OOC:
Although there's a benefit to having assistants with the same crafting feat, the entry on Cooperative Crafting says, "Any PC may contribute to the creation of a magic item (including XP and GP and prerequisites)."
Ah. I think I should have remembered that LEW house rule. The standard rule is that the collaborator who provides the crafting feat must pay all the XP, though perhaps that was only spelled out explicitly in the Rules Compendium.
That means that Keldar can contribute XP along with Tommy (60% each, for a total of 120%) for those items which Tommy is making for him.
Hmmm. If Tommy will increase the discount to 56% of cost (3248 gp, profit 348 gp) to take account of that, then it would be slightly cooler if some of Keldar's own life-force went into his own items.
Apropos Trouvere's earlier comments about alternative item slots, I think I might craft a Belt of Ogre Strength - since that makes an upgrade to a Belt of Giant Strength seamless, and since Tarag might fancy a Gauntlet of Rust at some later date.
Huh! That Gauntlet's an item I've never noticed. For the defensive function? Is Tarag that scared of rust monsters and druids?
Sticking to the 7 day crafting limit means a gp total price of 7000 gp. You can see that the item that comes closest is the Minor Circlet of Blasting. Apart from that, nothing really grabs me, although a Pearl of Power (2) and 3 Pearls of Power (1) are a possibility.
3rd to 5th level Pearls are the really useful ones, but you can find something to do with any of them. When you need endure elements for the entire party, you're really glad not to have to use all your 1st level slots on the same spell. And if you were in the habit of using an extended mage armor, then a 1st level Pearl gives you back a 2nd level slot. Useful for magic weapon, protection from evil, bear's endurance, or if you roll badly on a lesser restoration.

The Minor Circlet costs the same as 24 charges from a CL 6 Wand of searing light, though it can only be used once per day. From the 25th day, you're ahead. Or you could look at it as providing a fixed bonus 3rd level spell, where the nearest comparison would be a 3rd level Pearl of Power at 4500 gp, I suppose. It seems quite worth the price. Since the spell itself caps at 5d8, then 3d8 remains a tolerable use of a pseudo-3rd level slot even at higher levels. Of course, you do have to make that ranged touch roll. Hmmm - Hat of Disguise, Persuasion and Minor Blasting. For 3d8 +sneak attack :D
Please excuse the lack of sblock but at the moment I don't seem to be able to open my own sblocks, so just in case that's a problem for you folks I've done without!
I've noticed that problem in recent days too. Sometimes it's just one sblock of several on a page. Refreshing seems to fix it.[/sblock]

Appearance:
Tommy is a skinny, energetic lad who looks younger than his 18 years of age. Bright blue eyes and a ready smile peek out from a tangled shock of auburn curls. His skin is pale, and freckles quickly when exposed to direct sunlight. He has the clean-but-rumpled look of someone whose personal hygiene is maintained by daily prestidigitation. His too-small scholar's outfit is worn and patched in several places, but his gray cloak is well-made and carefully preserved. A sharp observer may catch flashes of silver lining inside the cloak.

Background:
Atomerasu Worthallingham IV was born to the last surviving members of the Worthallingham merchant clan. His energy and intellect were apparent from an early age, and he went through a series of increasingly expensive tutors. When he began to display a talent for magic as well, his parents called in the last of the favors owed to the once-powerful Worthallingham clan and arranged to have him enrolled at the Academy of the Chromatic Order, despite being only 13 years old.
The tuition stretched their finances to the breaking point, though, so with Tommy safely enrolled at the Academy, his parents risked everything in an attempt to restore the family fortunes: They pooled all of their remaining funds and outfitted a caravan to the Empire of Carduth far to the east, and departed not long after Tommy entered the Academy. The caravan never returned.

Tommy graduated from the Academy at 17 years of age. He spent a year working as an assistant librarian, until he managed to scrape together enough money to outfit himself as an adventurer and make his way to the famous Red Dragon Inn of Orussus.

Domains: Artifice, Fire

Age: 69
Height: 4'2"
Weight: 140lb
Eyes: blue
Hair: blonde
Skin: deep tan

Appearance: Broad-shouldered, and with his blonde beard trimmed close in the manner of his clan, Tarag bears a gleaming morningstar across which his fingers continually play!

Background: Second son of the Smith Azagindulad of the Clan Durvinn, Tarag has never had any doubt as to what he would be - a Smith in the tradition of a glorious line of Smiths. Such was his single-minded devotion to the Forge that, in a paradox of fate, his god called him, and sent him out into the world, to grow in experience and to assume the power which would enable him to be a Master Artificer and a Smith of the Smith God. For, as he was to find out soon enough, it is not enough to have power - it has to be harnessed to a goal worthy of it.

[/sblock][sblock=Chennet’] Chennet'
"CHEN-neth"
The Heart of the Forge, Soul of the Ground

Enworldian Lesser Deity
Symbol: White anvil on circular field of crimson
Home Plane: Elemental Plane of Fire
Alignment: Neutral Good.
Portfolio: god of weapons, armor, the forge and craftsmen
Worshippers: Dwarves, Craftsmen
Cleric Alignments: Any Good
Domains: Artifice, Good, Fire, Earth
Favored Weapon: "Chennet' Anok" ('Will of Chennet') - greataxe.

Chennet' is a god often invoked by armorsmiths and weaponsmiths in passing, when forge fires blaze out of control, or beards get singed (Ko'vetiye Chennet' - ch'pak na gaven? - Thank you, o forge god - may I have another?). A small sect devoted to this deity resides mostly in dwarven communities east of Orussus, and clerics of the faith (of which there are few, due to mishaps) enjoy benefits related to the manufacture of better tools with which to fight evil, and protection of smiths from common workplace accidents.

Chennet' appears alternately as a dwarf, or in forges as a white-hot mass of molten metal. Chennet' generally communicates to mortals telepathically, but is not above speaking when it suits him. In the pantheon, Chennet' generally looks to assist deities of good alignment whenever possible, crafting legendary weapons and armor for their protection.

Clerics of Chennet' do not have to be dwarves, though most are. But to have the requisite knowledge of him, they generally have to have had exposure to a smithing environment.[/sblock][sblock=Artifice Domain] ARTIFICE DOMAIN
Granted Power: Gain +4 bonus on Craft checks. The character casts conjuration (creation) spells at +1 caster level. (Those with access to both the Artifice and Creation domains cast conjuration [creation] spells at +3 caster level.)

This spell affects up to 10 cubic feet per level of the spellcaster.
If cast upon a metal or mineral, the volume is reduced to 1 cubic foot per level.[/sblock][sblock=Proposal upon which Clan Durvinn is based]
The post is found here.[/sblock][sblock=Scrolls to be scribed]At the end of his first week ‘on the job’ Tarag will gain 5xp. That’s enough to scribe 5 1st level spells (if he has the cash). If he can afford it, he will scribe: Detect Magic; Read Magic; Bless, Cure Light Wounds, Shield of Faith.

After 4 weeks he finally has enough gold to scribe a single 1st level spell. He chooses to create a scroll of Cure Light Wounds.[/sblock][sblock=Level 4 archive]

Day 1
It's going to be nice to have a few days' rest from derring-do and danger. I need to get my head back together and try to stop thinking about Rapture. All the time. And Galwynn. I didn't think I'd miss him at all.

Wonder if Tommy needs any help with that disguising scroll. Hey, I've got one of those crystal prisms in my magic school souvenir pouch too. I suppose it makes the squiggles and symbols look bigger. How hard can it be? Peer through it, waggle the fingers, tum te tum. Wait. What? It's all so simple! I could cast this!

Well, Tommy's been exaggerating. Wait till he finds out I know.

Day 2
Strangely tired. Still, green felt was a splendid choice for a hat. It's a lot nicer than Tarag's silly belt. Rapture would- Rather a slow process, magic hat making. Not sure of the need for quite so much powdered platinum. Where does it all go?

Day 3
Worth the vague feeling of exhaustion! A Hat of Disguise! Now Keldar can walk with a thousand faces. One at at time, obviously. I know what I mean. Hope Tarag remembers to put a few extra holes in that belt. He's sure to need them one day.

Day 4
That went well! Shopkeeper surely suspected nothing when a young spotty oik told him that his grandmother had knitted him a coat of mail two sizes too small. Brilliant story, if I say so myself. Also, congratulate self on giving fair equal shares to others.

Do you knit mail? Could ask Tarag, but he'd probably look at me like I was stupid.

Tarag's finished his belt at last. He thinks it's wonderful, but as far as I can see, he's still only nearly as strong as I am. Still, we can't all be Warbrays.

Day 5
So bored! What's so important about a headband when there are still gloves to be made? Selling loot one at a time in a different disguise at a different shop doesn't exactly fill the hours. And when I am here, they keep shushing me.

Should practise my magical powers. Some of the curious objects in the pouch seem to call to me, whereas others just seem worthless. That'll keep me out of trouble.

Day 6
I think I'm getting the hang of my magic. Broke a cup and somehow fixed it, with just a wave of the hand and a snatch of song, almost without thinking. That could be useful.

Day 7
Tommy's headband is finished at last. Maybe now he'll talk to me again. I suppose it suits him. Not as well as my hat suits me, of course. It's a little ostentatious, in fact. A gem in the middle of the forehead does rather say ooh, look at me, I'm a wizard with an enormous brain. I have to walk through doorways sideways, to avoid banging my enormous swollen head.

Apparently, if I point and mutter while playing with a piece of copper wire, people can hear what I say no matter how quietly I say it.

For 10 minutes. Even when I go to the water closet. Stupid magic.

Day 8
Busy again. Gloves, gloves, gloves. Tarag's periapt is lovely. Won't say anything else about it in case I'm overheard again.

Day 9
More tiring glove work. I'm glad cats don't make me sneeze. Tommy does leave a lot of fur floating about. Tarag's acting mysterious. Is he making something else, or what?

Day 10
I don't know where Tommy gets his stamina from. Or why so many strange ingredients have to be poured over and rubbed into my gloves. I'm not sure I really want to know about it, if I have to wear them. It's a bit like sausages, I suppose.

Day 11
At last! I do feel faster, and deadlier, and more dextrous. And now my real holiday begins! It'll be good to relax and do nothing. I could work on a few songs. Maybe one about R- Damn.

Day 12
Wish there was someone to talk to. You'd think Tarag had discovered the secret of enlightenment, stroking his beard and 'hmmm'ing all the time. It's just a periapt. I bet he's not really any wiser. What does that mean anyway? Strength and speed you can test. Anyone can claim to be wise. I'm quite wise. Tommy's started yet another project.

Day 13
Good to get out of the inn room. Sold almost the last of the halfling loot in the guise of an old lady upset that her ungrateful grandchildren hadn't liked their presents. Another perfect disguise. Spent some important time staring up at the cliff wall, counting windows. Better than going back inside.

Day 14
Good Gundar, Tarag, either grow your beard or shave it off. It's this half-hearted close-cropped thing that drives me mad. If you have to be a dwarf, be a dwarf!

Fimble! I could have talked to Fimble! I hope he wasn't too bored. Right, let's talk to Fimble.

Huh. I had no idea Fimble's nose was so irritating. It waggles when he talks.

When is Tommy going to stop polishing that wand? It's compensation for something, if you ask me. Or for the lack of something. Ever. Wait, was I twiddling copper wire in my fingers again? Oh, thank goodness.

Day 15
Tommy says he'll be finished today. I've had a brilliant idea. I wonder if I can talk the others into it. Who am I kidding - I'm Keldar Warbray!

Fimble had been acting awkwardly around Keldar ever since the water-closet-mutterings incident, but it seems that today he has finally recovered from the shock.

Indeed, the young gnome has more than recovered. Like the others, he spent the last few weeks working hard, discussing magic with Tommy when he wasn't too busy and with Keldar when he was bored. The result of his toil is evidenced by his discovery of a few new spells and a greater propensity for retaining seemingly useless arcane trivia.

More than two weeks have passed since the foray into the Fallon underworld, and our gang of heroes has managed to remain undercover and unnoticed. Now, well rested and well prepared, it's time for their next move.

Tommy stretches and idly scratches under the headband. The books never mention how they itch, he thinks. Still, it's worth it. And I'd better get used to it. I hope to be wearing one of these for many years to come.

He wanders to the common room, idly munching a handful of bread and cheese. "So," he says to the others between bites. "I suppose the heat will have died down by now, eh? How are we going to do this?"

These little mammals are aggressive predators but usually confine themselves to smaller prey. The statistics presented here can also apply to ferrets.

Combat

Attach (Ex): If a weasel hits with a bite attack, it uses its powerful jaws to latch onto the opponent’s body and automatically deals bite damage each round it remains attached. An attached weasel loses its Dexterity bonus to Armor Class and has an AC of 12. An attached weasel can be struck with a weapon or grappled itself. To remove an attached weasel through grappling, the opponent must achieve a pin against the creature.

Skills: Weasels have a +4 racial bonus on Move Silently checks and a +8 racial bonus on Balance and Climb checks. They use their Dexterity modifier for Climb checks. A weasel can always choose to take 10 on a Climb check, even if rushed or threatened.[/sblock]

Age: 63
Height: 3'4"
Weight: 43lb
Eyes: Light blue
Hair: Dirty blonde
Skin: Tan, by birth, not from sun

Appearance: At average height, for a gnome anyway, this little character is as skinny as they come. One might guess at a look that he had enough muscle to lift his arms and, well, that's about it. And they would be right. Despite his looks, however, Fimble McGee is the sturdiest wizard you'll ever meet. His straight, sandy hair isn't cut short but isn't long either. It clings to his skull and then at the neck curls out to the tips in a feeble act of rebellion. His round yet bony face is accentuated by a well-kept goatee on the chin. His silver rimmed glasses rest at the tip of his large gnomish nose, giving him that distinguished look of a scholar, while his blue eyes glint with a spark of cheer.

His outfit is simple and efficient. A long-sleeved, tan shirt under a pale grey vest rests above his long, brown, somewhat baggy breeches. Black, leather, knee high boots hold his hairy feet. All this is covered by a large, thick, light blue cloak, complete with a hood and several pockets. A very full, brown leather satchel rests at his left side, and a small crossbow and full quiver hang on his back by a strap. Using his gnarled quarterstaff as a walking stick, his telltale approach is marked by a loud *clack* after every other step.

Personality: Having been raised by wealthy merchants, Fimbus III has excellent manners. Fimble loves and respects both of his parents very much, and he talks about his home in Fallon fondly and often. He always introduces himself with his full name and an almost regal bow. The little gnome’s whole persona is exaggerated; a flourish with every bow, a wink with every joke, and huge gestures with every story. He has a jovial demeanor, a love of life not found in those with less fortunate childhoods, but somehow he manages to pull it all off without seeming spoiled. Some might interpret his actions as foppish or naïve. Fimble prefers to think of himself as friendly and confident.

In any extended conversation with the wizard, he almost always finds a way to turn the discussion towards his calling in life: magic. Fimble is fascinated with arcana of all kinds, he loves the runes, the dusty old tomes, and especially the spectacular effects. His favorite kind of magic looks big and sounds loud, regardless of the actual effect. That’s part of the reason he’s an illusionist. He is known for idly playing with minor illusions when he talks, and he often accompanies his dinner stories with magical displays of tiny moving illustrations.

Fimble is a generous gnome. He’ll gladly give to those in need, without expecting anything in return. He won’t donate what he can’t afford, however. He’s still young, and has a lot to learn, but he’s not as green as he seems. He worships Antonidas of Drevin mostly out of formality. His parents weren’t religious and neither is he. He’s not entirely convinced that clerics’ powers don’t come from within, and clerics just attribute their magic to divine beings. Secretly, he thinks of deities like his illusions: What does it matter if they’re real or not, so long as people believe they are? This way of thinking is politically incorrect in the current times, however, so he keeps his thoughts to himself.

He loves books. He loves reading about magic and architecture. He likes to play with chemicals, and he can cook up a mean Alchemist’s Fire pretty darn quick. He makes friends quickly and easily. He’s a happy little wizard gnome, and that’s about it.

[SBLOCK=History: ]
Public except where noted.

Fimbus I, the Medibarian War Hero
[SBLOCK]Fimbus Leyron Aukits Macklerey Gimmons I was a poor country gnome, living in a humble hole in a hill on the outskirts of the small kingdom of Medibaria. He had a pretty little wife with whom he was very in love, and she with him. She kept the home and a small garden while he grew crops to sell at the market. His wife gave birth to a beautiful baby boy about one decade into their marriage. He looked so much like his father that she decided to name him after his "pa". Humble, young Fimbus I resisted at first but eventually gave in when he saw how glad it made her. One fateful day, the nation of Medibaria got into a conflict with its neighboring nation, Hendralia, and, as nations often do, war was declared. As an able-bodied male, Fimbus was drafted into the army. His pretty little wife wept and his beautiful baby boy giggled as he donned his military uniform for the first time.

In the war, this poor but extremely intelligent gnome faced such universal problems as racism, aristocratic arrogance, and "height-ism". Yet through some courageous deeds, young Fimbus earned some respect, earned some love, and eventually earned some command. With his squad of gnomish "mini-men", as they were affectionately called, he destroyed bridges, walls, and buildings of the enemy and created the same for the homeland with remarkable efficiency and speed. Many men owe their lives to the "mini-men", and the war was expeditious and victorious for the small kingdom. Fimbus was honored and glorified by the king, he received several medals for "Courage in the Service of His Country" and "Ingenuity and Excellence" and "Expert Leadership". His reputation among the people was that of a magnificent hero.

In spite of all this attention, young Fimbus remained humble and really only wanted to see his pretty little wife and beautiful baby boy. Two years had gone by and while it isn't as much to a gnome as it is to a human, he missed his small family something terrible. He requested honorable discharge from the king, and it was immediately granted. He went to the capital for the ceremony, and he became a farmer again. And the people cheered for their hero and raised him above their heads, to his embarrassed dismay.

That fateful day, an assassin from the enemy had infiltrated the capital to kill the king. The murderer confused the festivities as monarchial ceremonies and killed young Fimbus Leyron Aukits Macklerey Gimmons I. The assassin was arrested by city guardsmen and put in a holding cell to await execution. That night, a riotous mob stormed the jail and killed every prisoner except one, whom they carried off, bound by chains, to the woods. Nobody knows the identity of this prisoner or the gruesome fate that he met in the forest, but conjectures can be made.

The news eventually reached the pretty little wife. She was devastated and not comforted at all by the vast fortune that was given to her for her husband's success in the military. She hid most of it away and continued her life in her humble hole in the hill on the outskirts of the small kingdom, raising her son to be as much like her beloved spouse as she could.[/SBLOCK]
Fimbus II, the Gemcutter of Fallon
[SBLOCK]Fimbus Leyron Aukits Macklerey Gimmons II grew up in the quiet provincial life of his father. He remembered nothing of his namesake, but his mother's stories and what rumors he collected painted a marvelous picture for him. At night he dreamed of his father's deeds on the battlefield and wished he could have such adventures. When he turned 40, the traditional age of adulthood for gnomes, his pretty little mother caught a debilitating sickness that forced her to remain in bed all day. The sickness was of mysterious and possibly arcane or divine origin, said the doctors who came to see her. She would certainly die if she wasn't helped by a powerful cleric soon. Unfortunately, no clerics of the small kingdom were of any use, and none could be summoned fast enough.

The sickness quickly took its toll on the pretty little mother, and she became even littler. Unable to leave her side, Fimbus II listened to her delirious ramblings for days. On the day of her death, she mistook her beautiful son for her beloved husband and hugged him to her tightly, saying, "Oh, my dear Fimble! How I missed you so! Our son, he is so beautiful, don't you think? He's a fine young gnome, just like you were, Fimble!" And here she dropped to a whisper and glanced around, checking to see if anyone was in the room. Satisfied that they were alone, she said softly in his ear, "And it's buried, Fimble, dear, but not for long. I'm going to give it to our beautiful son as soon as he turns forty! Isn't it exciting? Oh it'll be so wonderful, I'm so glad you're here Fimble, dear... You know I'm quite tired darling, I think I'll take a quick nap, then I'll join you for a stroll in the woods, how lovely it'll be when we come back with his little present... Mmm..." She slept peacefully for the first time in years, never to wake again.

Fimbus II mourned the death of his mother for many a moon, and her reputation as wife to the famous Fimbus Leyron Aukits Macklerey Gimmons I brought dozens of mourners to her funeral. After the ceremonies, after everyone had left, Fimbus II was alone to contemplate his life. While the mourners had offered gifts, Fimbus II had refused them all. His mother had had little to no money, they were very poor. Happy, but poor. He recalled what he had previously assumed were the delirious ramblings of a dying woman and reconsidered them. With nothing more to do, he took a walk in the woods.

Nobody knows where he went, but when he returned many hours later, he was dragging a large chest, even by human standards. He opened the chest to find it filled with innumerable... rocks. Nothing but plain, ordinary, garden rocks. The only other thing in the box was an odd-looking shovel with an unfamiliar seal branded on the handle. A look of fury passed over his always happy face. Someone had stolen his parents' last gift to him, his final memory had been taken by greedy thieves. And his only clue was this stupid looking shovel.

That night, a short traveler carrying a weird digging implement was seen leaving the small kingdom. He never came back.

Many years later, Fimbus II is a well-renowned gemcutter, known as the best by far in the city of Fallon, and perhaps the best in all the land. He not only cuts marvelous gems with unrivaled precision and beauty but also owns what is believed to be one of the largest stash of uncut gems in the world. Where all these precious stones come from, nobody knows for sure. The rumors say that Fimbus II was walking one day on a mountain when he tripped and fell off the cliff, where he luckily landed on a ledge invisible from the cliff. This ledge led into a cave filled with these gems, and he cut them all out using his bare hands and whatever hard, striking implements he could scrounge up. He then carried this huge mass of rock by the armful to his house where he practiced his gemcutting skills until he had honed them to perfection. Another story says he was actually the organized crime boss in another city, and he ran here to escape his dangerous enemies. Needless to say, none of these stories are actually true.

Fimbus II and his wife are both middle-aged and appropriately sized, but they have sturdy looks about them, as though they had seen a lot physical hardship in their day. Actually, for many years they had adventured together, gathering this huge hoard of stones over the decades. Once they had lost count of the number of times they had saved each other's lives, they decided to settle down in Fallon, where Fimbus II started his gemcutting business. It didn't take them long to have a son, who of course took after his father in all things, looks included. The couple decided to honor Fimbus' parents and named their son accordingly.

[SBLOCK=Possible Adventure: ]When Fimbus left home with the odd shovel, he went hunting for the thief who stole his family’s treasure. He never found the culprit, but he did make a fortune adventuring. The seal on the shovel is complex and nobody he’s ever shown it to recognizes it. Occasionally, he puts up posters in Fallon which read, “Have you seen this shovel? Have you seen this seal? Reward: 10,000 Gold Crowns” and depict the odd-looking digging implement, sans the branded seal on the handle, and an enlarged version of the seal below it. So far, no legitimate claims have been made on the reward. A few people have claimed to see the seal, but upon research their memories “must have failed them.” And one man turned in a replica of the shovel, hoping to get the reward, but he did not brand the shovel with the seal, so Fimbus easily spotted it as a fake. Who stole the Gimmons family fortune? Is there any of it left? And are the thieves still operating today? These are questions Fimbus wants answered, and if anybody gives him valid information, he will gladly pay handsomely for it.

Fimbus III, the Illusionist Extraordinaire
[SBLOCK]Fimbus Leyron Aukits Macklerey Gimmons III was born into a wealthy family in wondrous and mystical Fallon, City of Falls. His mother, Lady Gimmons, loved her son and cared for him with immense affection. His first words were his father's name, "Fimbus Leyron Aukits Macklerey Gimmons", though because he was an infant, it came out as a garbled, "Fimble McGee!" It stuck, and he has been called Fimble McGee by his family and friends for as long as he can remember. His mother taught him to read and write from a very young age. When she was teaching him to write his name, he loved writing the whole monstrous thing out again and again, filling up page after page. The tiny master also devoured books by the dozen. He especially loved the ones about magic. He attempted to teach himself a few spells and achieved moderate success. His mother loved to see him so excited, so she invited a gnome illusionist whom she had met in her travels to come see her little Fimble.

The gnomish scholar decided that he could benefit from such wealthy patrons and agreed to apprentice young Fimble in exchange for the funding of the Gimmonses in his various magical experiments. A deal was made and Fimble learned wizardry. As many gnomes do, he had a particular affinity with illusion spells, though he could never quite get the hang of abjuration and simply despised the prospect of necromancy. In his spare time he fiddled about with alchemy.

After many years of tutelage, the master illusionist sadly decreed that he could no longer teach Fimble, only experiencing the world first hand would do him much good now. The Gimmonses hated to see their son go, but they all knew it was best. He packed a small bag and bade his family goodbye. Of course, the Gimmonses decided to continue to fund the illusionist, who was overjoyed at this news and still invents new spells to this day.

The young Fimble ventured out into the world, learning a little bit about everything. He especially liked architecture and the beautifully complex gizmos that his kin would make. He heard of the city of Orussus and its reputation for harboring hardcore adventurers. Intrigued, Fimbus Leyron Aukits Macklerey Gimmons III set forth on his journey.

After weeks of travel, he has arrived. Exhausted but happy to have reached his destination, he enters the first tavern that he sees, coincidentally (or not...?) the one he had heard of on his sojourn, the Red Dragon.[sblock=First Entrance at the RDI: ]The friendly poker game is loudly interrupted when the door to the Red Dragon Inn is thrown open. A sudden burst of wind slams the door against the wall, a great *CRACK!* resounds across the room. Startled patrons look out into the black night where a figure shrouded in darkness stands ominously. This creature edges slowly towards the entrance with an odd gait, a third, misshapen leg clacks against the ground as it edges closer. It reaches the door and the light of the tavern reveals the identity of the stranger.

"Oh my! Sorry about all that noise, this wind is so strong, I can barely walk! Goodness..." A small gnome using a gnarled quarterstaff as a walking stick enters the tavern and hastily shuts the door. He smooths down his simple and efficient traveling outfit and heads to the bar to greet the barkeep. "Good evening, sir, you must be Joe? I heard of your tavern all the way back in my home town, it's weeks away. Oh, I'm sorry! My name!" With this he once again straightens his clothes. Puffing his chest out imperiously and throwing back his cloak with dashing flair, he pronounces:

"Fimbus Leyron Aukits Macklerey Gimmons the third, illusionist extraordinaire, at your service!" He brings his chest in a bit and gives Joe a wink. "But you can call me Fimble McGee. Perhaps you know my father, Fimbus II? He's quite well known in our city, maybe not around here though. Well then, how about a bit of ale?" Upon receiving his mug, he glances around at the clientele.

Seeing a game of cards going on at one table, Fimble decides to go make some friends. He strides over to the table to introduce himself.

[sblock=OOC regarding Fimble: ]As you may have already noticed, I am retiring Fimble and converting him into a full time NPC. I've advanced him to level 5, and I'm basically going to ask you guys to control him during combat.

I'd like somebody to pick his spells at the beginning of each day, and he also has some money to blow on spells for his spellbook. Now that he's an NPC, I'm not afraid to leverage his father's wealth, so if you have any ideas for a good magic item, he can probably scrounge up a reasonable amount of money.[/sblock]
