** with shield[/sblock][/sblock]Richard is hit by the lesser attack, but he is still sagging from several wounds in quick succession, even while trying to defend himself and his friends. The speed which these undead move has totally caught him off guard and he tries to continue to defend, hoping to give his allies a chance to turn the tide. 'Do we have a plan or do we retreat?'

Stats: Str 8 | Dex 16 | Con 12 | Int 20 | Wis 10 | Cha 10

Skills: perception, tumble, info control, no “thief” skills. 78 points of Rogue. Concentration 5, spellcraft 1, kn:arcana 1.
next level: wizard, 4 to kn: arcana, 3 to concentration
Feats are Weapon Finesse and Practised Spellcaster.

Which is, verbatim, what was given to me ... Still no answer/clue on how many spells remain, what was memmed, etc... [/sblock]Thallirae will advance, sparks jumping from fingertips, to a position that gives both an opportunistic attack and avoids giving these speedy "dead things" a shot first.
[sblock=ooc: ]This means C10 or D10 depending on how busy U3 is,
OR C8 if a shot on U1 would be possible... basically D10 if that's an option, C8 if not, and C10 if neither would keep Thallirae out of harms way... although the tumble-in-and-zap-option is still open, if things look desperate... I don't want to kill the NPC :p
lemme know when I should roll for attack.[/sblock]

btw, thank you B4cchus

Thallirae moves in to attack. Her hands come forward (move to D10) and a huge jolt of lightning comes out of her thin frame. The undead creature lights up like a lightning bug for a moment, and the smell of charred flesh fills the chamber. (Hits AC 24, 17 damage to U3)

End of Round 2

Round 3

Tumna slashes at the undead, but Thallirae's sudden surge of energy surprises her and throws off her swing.

Rinya...

"What am I doing? I can't use this thing if I can't talk...," Rinya thinks. She tosses the wand aside and everyone in the mindlink can feel her anger take hold as she draws her sword and re-enters the fray.

ooc: Stoopid Silence. :]
Drop wand, enter Rage (round 1 of 6)

Round 3

Rinya's rage filled blow nearly severs the undead creature in half. Its spine sliced through, its upper torso now hangs by a few threads of gore. It continues to kick and fight, but it seems as though a child yanking on its arm would rip it apart. (U3 takes 23 damage)

The two zombies surrounding Richard begin to pummel him furiously, intelligently taking advantage of their flanking positions. At first it seems like the fighter will be able to find off their attacks, but then, as one distracts him with a low kick, the other comes from behind with a strike to the neck. (Hits AC 20, 6 damage to Richard)

The flayed undead decides that Rinya is the greatest threat and turns to the crazed elf. It is severely incapacitated by its bizarre condition, and fights terribly.

The living roots inch ever closer.

Khairi's scimitars finish Rinya's messy job. He cuts the thin strip of flesh holding the zombie together, then makes quick work of cutting the tendons and muscles that keep the thing moving. It is soon reduced to nothing but a twitching mess on the ground. (U3 falls)

[sblock=OOC ]Question: how is it, if Richard is Withdrawing and keeping his shield up, (ie, not attacking - just defending) that Both zombies get flanking???! Richard will Withdraw to E10 if possible, if Rinya's Rage makes that difficult, F10 will do. If those are 5' squares, and if he can get full move, he'll fall all the way back to D12 and start looking through his pack for some liquid courage![/sblock]As the fighter begins to pull back the zombies stay right on him, missing... missing ... missing again!
'Hah! not so tough!' he thinks, still blocking and backing up... then he gets hit from behind...
'Ouch! What's the plan guys!? I'm falling back to keep from being killed!' he thinks rather urgently.
Richard continues to withdraw, trying to stay alive and hoping someone is able to help!
