Pinnacle's Forgotten Forge

Alex grins. "I take it you're new in town."

He looks around, and then continues a little more quietly. "I've never been there myself, but everyone's heard of it. It's a tournament, of sorts. They pay people to fight for money. Not exactly legal, y'see, but..." He looks down into the palms of his oversized hands and sighs. "Well, a bloke has to eat."

As does the earth, so this "Burning Ring" seems to serve two purposes. Jaren pauses to think about the strange cloaked man. I don't know why we would be interested in what happened to the provost. Once a man is dead, his spirit gone from his body, he is just food for the earth. Shouldn't we be more interested in who the warforged was, and whether or not her tribe will seek vengeance?

"There is something strange happening."
"There sure is! Kyria agrees, her eyes dancing. "I wouldn't miss it for all the jewels in Rhodilia d'Cannith's bodice, and let me tell you, that girl needs some serious reinforcements, if you know what I mean. Mind you, if I had a face like hers, I'd be trying to draw attention to my chest, too. But, speaking of jewels, let's see what we managed to rescue from the Sharnies."

She pulls out the items she managed to get from the proctor and examines them more closely.

Alex makes a face, as though he were sucking something from between his teeth.

"Now that's a good question. A bloody good question. There's certainly a few "tribes" in the city that it's not particularly healthy to cross. But maybe that bloke can tell us that as well, wot?"

"Worth a shot, at any rate."

Looking at Alex, Storm will ask "I didn't think you have tribes here in the city tall-one. Between this 'burning ring' and tribes maybe this place isn't that much different from my home. I've never like leaving a mystery unanswered so I'm up for seeing what that very mysterious cloaked guy was all about. I think I'd like to go check out this tavern, but I don't know the way, maybe one of you from around here can show me where it's at? "

"Where I'm from the tribes always fight each other. One tribe called the Bringers of Fire always tried to get rid of the smaller tribes. But does anyone know where we can find this tavern?"

"The Broken Anvil, he said? Sure, I know where that is. Or, wait, maybe I'm thinking of the Burnished Anvil. Or maybe the Broken Amphora. Let me see..." Kyria rattles on.

Aesha listened curiously as the human made his pitch, and nodded almost to herself. As the others began to discuss the matter, though, she moved off through the rain-spattered streets. Tomorrow at dawn would be soon enough to see which of these other unusual folk might be interested in pursuing this little mystery...

OOC: Aesha will head out for now- most likely to spend the rest of the day trying to figure out where the Broken Anvil is located. Yea for untrained Gather information skill use!

"Yeh well, they don't call themselves tribes, they say clan, or house, or gang, if they're honest. But it amounts to the same thing. As for the tavern..." He scratches his head.

"I'm not rightly sure. I think I've heard of it..."

[sblock=OOC](( Alex will attempt a knowledge (local) check, and hope for a circumstance bonus due to the fact that it's just two districts away from where he lives--It's in Callestan, if I'm not mistaken, and Alex lives in Fallen ))[/sblock]

Alex will ask the others remaining if they have a place to stay, or need anything, and if everyone is ok, he'll seek out the nearest Jorasco facility to get that healing (He's still down four or five HP, not sure exactly hehe). Then he'll head home and seek out the tavern in the morning.

Watcher accepts the slip for repair from House Cannith and refuses an escort. He moves away, somewhat relunctantly, but he has no idea of what to do, and the watch seems to be taking care of the crime scene and the Provost's body, as well as the other 'forged. When the hooded man waves them down and delivers his message, Watcher calls after him, "Wait - who is your mistress?" But the mysterious man doesn't stop or slow.

Watcher listens quietly to the others chatter and discuss meeting at the Broken Anvil to discover what is going on, for various reasons. He knows that he will go, in hopes of getting more information on who would have ordered such an attack - he feels responsible for the Provost's death. If only he had been faster....

When Kyria pulls out and examines the items from the Provost more closely, Watcher will speak up. "Now that we have saved them from being stolen by the watch, we must return them to the Provost's family." He seems completely serious.
