Grasping the holy symbol of Pelor that hangs around his neck, Logan tries to calm the aggressors down a bit. "Doing harm to innocent people will not help your cause here. Now if you lower your weapons we can talk about this like civilized individuals and not like street thugs looking for trouble."

[sblock=OOC]Casting Calm Emotions Will Save DC 17. Trying to center it on their leader and the men-at-arms near the bar. Hoping to prevent them from doing anything stupid. :)

This spell calms agitated creatures. You have no control over the affected creatures, but calm emotions can stop raging creatures from fighting or joyous ones from reveling. Creatures so affected cannot take violent actions (although they can defend themselves) or do anything destructive. Any aggressive action against or damage dealt to a calmed creature immediately breaks the spell on all calmed creatures.

This spell automatically suppresses (but does not dispel) any morale bonuses granted by spells such as bless, good hope, and rage, as well as negating a bard’s ability to inspire courage or a barbarian’s rage ability. It also suppresses any fear effects and removes the confused condition from all targets. While the spell lasts, a suppressed spell or effect has no effect. When the calm emotions spell ends, the original spell or effect takes hold of the creature again, provided that its duration has not expired in the meantime.

Round 2

Jason hangs his mace back on his belt and slowly walks towards the man holding the inn keeper trying to make eye contact with him but without being threatening. "Now friend theirs no need to be dragging innocents into this, nor is it to late for you to find a new path. I too was once on the wrong end of righteousness and the wrong end of this mace, and neither is a place you want to be. But if its money you want..." Jason undoes his coin purse and holds it in his hand, about 5 feet from the man.

The man at arms licks his lips nerviously, but his blade does not waiver. His eyes flick to Middlebrook, who is clearly in charge.

Outside, behind the inn, the monk awaits his opportunity. He watches as an unseen archer somewhere above drops another of the gathering men at arms.

While inside, Grasping the holy symbol of Pelor that hangs around his neck, Logan tries to calm the aggressors down a bit. "Doing harm to innocent people will not help your cause here. Now if you lower your weapons we can talk about this like civilized individuals and not like street thugs looking for trouble."

This time the man's blade does lower somewhat and he takes his attention off the prisioner for an instant. This is the moment the Elf was waiting for. With a step back she drops out of site behind the bar.

Harrison is standing defensively and is taken for a bit of a surprise when the men at arms take an offensive stance in the room. he is about to charge to the attack when the cowardly man takes the inn keeper hostage. "there is treachery afoot !" he exclaims, not sure of what to do at the the moment.

Middlebrook fires (1d20+11=27) his at Logan and the bolt strikes him in the leg (1d4+1=3) (DC:14 Fort save please).

"Take my gold and you will die. Do I look like someone that is impressed by taking hostages?" Garagoes announces in a voice that suggests he is all too serious.

Middlebrook blanches at the dwarf's words.

The front and rear doors burst open at almost the same moment and armed men in chain mail start to run in. At the front door the men are suddenly covered in sticky webs and only one man manages to slip in. At the rear the 4 men rush in and the last on turns as Tagret appears behind him, but the monks blow just misses the back of the man's head.

Actions for round 2 from Jason, actions for round 3 for everyone else? Note that some of you held actions and will now act on 6 rather than your previous initiative. Current foes in the room include Middlebrook and the two original men at arms one by the bar and one in front of Middlebrook. Now there are 5 new men at arms as well--one at the front and four at the rear. Additionally, there are 5 more men trapped in webs at the front. Fin no longer has a target outside.

[sblock=Zorn]Only you know there are two more men down the street standing guard.[/sblock]

OOC: Will saves (1d20+2=4, 1d20+6=23)
