Scotley's Tomb of Horrors 3.5

Hero
Harrison finds that his silver nets him the best two apples on the elderly woman's cart and a personal escort to The Lizard's Boat. Not as big a deal at it might sound for the 'Boat is one small block up from the dock and a half block down a perpendicular street. She bids Harrison good day and makes her way up the street calling the merits of her apples to the passersby.

An intricate sign built to resemble a sailing ship that has caught on fire hangs above the main entrance to this tavern and inn. The fire appears to be real. Half a dozen lizards perch atop the sign, but do not appear to be harmed by the tiny flames only inches away. The Inn and Tavern is three stories tall and seems clean and well maintained from what can be seen on the street.

Zorn glances around the shop briefly before addressing the woman.
You are quite correct young lady. I am in need of a new hat. My previous one blew away while I was travelling here. I would prefer something tricornered but I would welcome yuor recommendation. I am also in need of directions to the Lizard's Boat Tavern. I am meeting some business partners there.

Chowder shop

Robert MacArdy finds himself addressing a rotund human man at the window of a stall where sailors and fishermen can get a bowl of chowder and a mug of beer. The stall contains a large barrel of beer and a bubbling cauldron of chowder that actually smells pretty good. The fellow seems more concerned with eating his own cooking than with making a sale and he give the Druid and his large kitty the directions without insisting on a purchase. "Up the street and hang a right. Its on the left. Look for a sign with a burning ship and lots of lizards about. Give my best to Kailee."

The little Gnome considers for a moment. "I don't have a Tricorn in stock at the moment, but I could get one done for you by tomorrow afternoon. I'll need a deposit of half down." She gestures at her work table where a selection of fabrics, pelts and leathers are tacked to a small board. "What do you favor? Felt? Kidskin? Maybe something in a fur, I've a lovely muskrat? Plumed or plain?"

"Oh The Lizard's Boat. Just around the corner on the left." She points diagonal across the corner.

Zorn looks over the assortment of fabrics for a few moments, pondering each of their benefits. Finally, he decides.

Indicating the kidskin, Zorn says This will do nicely. No plume though. I will be travelling again soon. Perhaps on my next visit here I will purchase anonther one with a plume. I do have a business meeting early tomorrow afternoon so I will pick it up later in the day if that is acceptable. Now, what do I owe you for the pleasure of one of your fine headwear?

"A kidskin Tricorn will cost you 1 gp. I can have for you tomorrow afternoon if you'll just step over here to the step ladder so I can get your size."

Zorn pulls out a gold coin and hands it to the Gnome woman.

Here you are fine lady. I shall pay you in full up front. A token of my faith in the quality of your work.

Then he follows her instructions and walks over to stand next to the ladder.

Tagret walks down the road, following the dirty dwarf's directions. He looks carefully for the sign as it was described to him. He decided if the tavern had beds, he would simply stay there. Hopefully it wasn't as dirty as the other place.
