Note: I'm not trying to start a debate on 1-1-1 diagonal movement generally with this post, there are several other threads for that. I'm more interested in how people think the rules ought to work in the particular situation.
Let's say your warlock PC "WK" is facing 5 enemies aa,bb,cc,dd, and ee in a setup like this:
With 1-1-1 diagonal movement, I believe they are technically all the same distance away from the warlock. Can he curse any of them he chooses? Only cc? Something else?
Best news for the warlock would be getting to pick in the event of a tie, so I'd bet they can choose. Heck, if that's right they could even use all three actions to curse with and curse three out of five opponents without moving at all. Makes me wonder if cursing will break stealth.
