look up skilled it +2 in the complete arcane it will give you the attack bonus you need if you go with smite spell i would also consider arcane thisises from PH2 you should talk to your DM see if he would lower the requirment on arcane stike to +! BAB and arcane caster level 1 to be truthful it's a weak feat that looks like it has those requirement just as flavor and fluff
P.S. arcane strike does not have spell falure since you not casting i would go stalwort sorcorer from complete mage and take improved toughness.
