First Post
First of all bravo for all the creatures you already converted! While I dislike some of them (bonesnapper and al-mi-raj could use some more fantasy) most of them are just great and usefull! (love how you choosed some very unknown old favorites of myself like the marrash, metalmaster, zorbo, gravorg, hullathoin and vermin lord!)

Here a HUGE list of creatures that are missing in your own fantastic lists, do with the creatures what you like and I really hope you eventually convert them all ;)

Sorry for the huge post but if a moderator can edit my post for me and put all those levels in their own spoiler-like boxes I will be pleased! Or maybe somebody can explane to me how you create those spoiler boxes as I really don't know how to do that! Sorry again!

The creatures with a * are discribed by me in the lower levels of this post, they are changed creatures that don't appear as the versions from the real D&D world.
The creatures with a * are made up by myself.

***These creatures I made up myself, at least the D&D versions of the creatures.***

KERKOPE - Kerkopes are often kept by thieves as familiars, they are mischievous winged spider monkeys that love to steal all kinds of stuff.
GIANT STONEFISH- Like it's smaller cousin the giant stonefish lies motionless on the beach, but because of its size and decoration it is often confused with a large coast-stone, when people or other creatures touch the stone (by leaning on it for instance) they will be poisoned by a very nasty poison that turns flesh to stone in a very painful and long progress. Giant stonefish can live both on land and in the water, they eat all kinds of stuff, from small beasts to unwary humanoids.
THRI-KREEN ABONIMATION - This nasty creature resembles a thri-kreen from the waist up and a horrible mantis-demon from the waist down (much like a centaur) they also have the mantis-scythe-like arms. Thri-kreen abominations spawn when a demon and a thri-kreen mate.
LAVA FISH - These giant, red and black archer fish swim in lava and Vulcan’s, they shoot sprays of hot lava to flying creatures and devour the burned ashes when they fall into the Vulcan/lava.
SUNDIGGER - Cousins to the dust diggers but much larger and far more dangerous. Instead of resembling a normal starfish the sundigger resembles a sunstar, sundiggers can grow to colossal sizes, their hunting tactics are pretty much the same as their smaller cousins though.
CENTUSA - Like the goristro is the demonic version of the minotaur, so is the centusa the demonic version of the medusa, they pretty much resemble a greater medusa, but instead of snakes a centusa has dangerous centipedes growing from her head, her lower body resembles a huge black and red centipede.
Centusa lack a stone gaze of the normal medusa but get something far worse in return, their gaze causes all old wounds (a victim received during its entire life) to re-open on the victim’s body and all at the same time, all scars open instantly as those are old wounds as well.
ANCIENT BOOKEATER - While the small bookworms are pretty much only dangerous to a piece of paper, the ancient bookeater is a true terror to paper and the creatures using paper. They resemble medium-sized bookworms but they have gaping mouths with sharp teeth instead of the normal worm mouth.
Ancient bookeaters love to eat magical books and the brains of wizards to gain their content for a short period of time. The bookeater absorbs all spells the book/brains contain and can use them freely for a long period or until slain.
SYMPLEGADEN - Symplegaden are strange offspring of stone titans and are seen as a gift of the gods by them.
Symplegaden come into being as a stone titan mother gives birth to identical twins, something that only happens once every 1000 years or so.
Symplegaden look like normal stone titans but one of their two arms is deformed into a large rock-like shield, both the twins have this, but both on another side so they can crush creatures between them while walking together, the twins are always found together as all their special abilities only work while they are together, when one of them should die the survivor will lose itself into a berserking frenzy and will follow the killer around the world.
PS: Symplegaden appear in the Greek mythology as two crushing rocks that crush ships between them, and appear in the Argonauts storyline.
CHARYBDIS- Just like the scyllan are offspring of the legendary Scylla the Charybdis is also responsible for creating spawn. A lesser Charybdis appears as a giant tubeworm and can create terrible whirlpools to sink the best of ships with ease.

***Creatures that should change in my opinion.***
These creatures are from earlier monster manuals but in my opinion they should gain abilities or different appearance.

EAR SEEKER- Unlike the small creatures from the original D&D, this ear seeker is dog-sized. It looks just like a normal ear seeker but much bigger and more dangerous; they kill/knock out creatures and then lay their eggs inside their ears so that their larva can feast on their flesh when hatching.
SKIURID - These evil squirrels love the breath of the dying. Bands of Skiurids often follow powerful killers so that they can feast of the dying breath of all creatures killed by the murdering monster, the monsters often don't mind the squirrels and enjoy their evil company. (maybe you can give them a special aura that boosts evil creatures)
OBLIVIAX - This ISN'T a hazard!
This evil moss looks much like a small shambling mound but entirely made from moss. Obliviax grows on the shores of the river Styx and absorbs the memories from any creature they attack, while overflowing their minds with other memories taken from the evil river itself.
DOMOVOI - The evil cousins of the brownie, the domovoi will often haunt a household for months, trying to kill the inhabitants by fear or by lying traps for them inside their own homes while they are asleep, when the entire family is death or left the house they will continue to another house.
Domovoi are evil house-spirits that are able to animate objects with a touch.
CHUPACABRA - The goblins from the far-realm, these hairy monstrous goblins are addicted to blood and will do anything to steal it. Because they are small they often take children and pets as prey.
When a chupacabra tasted the blood of a victim, but the victim escaped while feeding the beasts can always find them back as a blood connection has been made, also when the blood of a prey comes from a sick creature/humanoid the chupacabra's body uses this disease in a useful way as it's touch now spreads this disease to enemies while its own body stays without harm, some chupacabras have so many different diseases inside their bodies that they are extremely deadly to anybody foolish enough to attack it.
LEPRECHAUN - Not as friendly as in the previous monster manuals... these evil gold diggers are much like the genies/djinns from legend.
They taunt people to make a good wish, but the outcome of this wish is always evil, much like: A prisoner wants to escape from jail, so it wishes for freedom, the leprechaun will for fill the prisoners wish but with terrible outcome, the prisoner will be ripped apart by the iron cage as it is pulled through. Leprechauns gain the souls of all the fools that make a deadly wish.
BRAIN MOLE - Dog-sized moles that love the taste of brains. Brain moles have many deadly psionic abilities and the most dangerous ability is the ability to take control of other creatures minds, these slaves are used for killing other creatures so the mole can feast on their brains. The mole won't join the fight but will control its slave from beneath the earth; if their slave is killed they will attempt to control the creature that killed it. (Often an easy target as the battle made it fragile to mind-attacks.)
PHYCOMID - Terrible blue shrieker-like toadstools that spread over the dungeon floor much like a disease. The spores a phycomid sprays will infest a living creatures body and the victim will die a horrible death as phycomids will grow on the inside of its body killing it and spawning another cluster of these horrible toadstools.
SAND HUNTER - These sand-based canines will hunt together in groups of 10 hounds, when facing larger enemies they will merge together to increase their own size.
Often they limit their size to 3 or 4 hounds merged together, but when facing dragons or giants they merge together with all 10 hounds, creating a dragon-sized abomination of their former smaller form. Their final form is a level 20 creature.
COOSHEE - These beautiful green and purple dogs are often used by drow, eladrin and quicklings as shepherd dogs.
Their ability to haste every creature around them is very useful for a cattle that isn’t fast on its own legs, also most creatures are fascinated by their beauty and won't attack or kill a cooshee, so the giant spiders they herd for the drow won't try to eat them.
FIREFRIEND - These human-sized fireflies are very playful killers, they kill without realizing it.
Firefriends are attracted to flame sources and when they are around flames their powers will automatically activate.
Their powers will cause flames to spread faster, turn non-flammable objects flammable and cause fires to animate into dangerous forms that actually spring to life and hunt for prey, also flames cause random explosions when firefriends are around and the flames will heal wounded firefriends, when someone kills a firefriend without putting out the flames first the flames will animate into a fire elemental and will seek vengeance for killing its 'friend".
KILLER FROG- These giant poison arrow frogs appear much like the slime prince from diablo II. They are called killer frogs because of their terrible poison that kills within seconds, when they enter a lake or river the water it touched can't be drunk for a couple of hours.
Killer frogs hunt for man-sized prey.
SELKIE - Instead of the fun loving half girls half seals, the male version of the selkie become a fierce and evil leopard seal. Male selkies are much rarer than the their female counterparts, while female selkies are always neutral the male selkies are most often evil and many of them attack females on sight.
BOMBARDIER BEETLE - Human sized beetles of war.
Goblins and orcs use bombards (as they are also called) as living siege weapons.
Bombardier beetles can shoot elemental bombs from their backs, fire, acid, frost or lightning bombs are some of them but other more complex bombs are also possible.
LOCATHAH - The masters of the deep, locathah are merman from the deeps that are often neutral but tend toward evil. Locathah are the only creatures that are on good terms with the mighty and horrible krakens. Locathah ride horrible deep-sea fish into battle.
SKULVYN - These evil demonic versions of the sahuagin look like their lesser cousins but instead of being green they have yellow/golden colors with black tiger-like spots. Their aura causes all creatures around them to lose speed so that they can slowly torture and kill their prey.
NIGHTSHADE - These evil jungle dwarves are the true masters of everything poisonous, they are a 100% immune to all poisons themselves and even regenerate when poisoned, all poisons around them become more fierce and dangerous as its aura strengthens poisons with 50% so they are often found in the company of evil poisonous creatures such as vipers and yuan-ti.
TEMPORAL FILCHER - These cousins of the dimensional filchers are true teleport horrors with many powers over teleportation and time, its most dangerous ability is the ability to teleport others to random locations.
Temporal filchers are often found as slaves of phanes and white slaads that enjoy their time based teleport moves.
CAVE MORAY - Note that this is not the stupid slug-like creature it was in earlier conversions!
This is a land/cave based moray eel monster that lurks in the underdark between the many rocks there, cave morays love the flesh of drow and kuo-toa and hunt them with passion, they can grow to enormous sizes but most of them are large or huge size.
ANNIS - These bone collecting hags are true terrors for everything with bones in their bodies.
They love collecting rare bone fragments so they can use them in their absurd creations. The dreaded annis create strange bone-golem creatures from many different kinds of creature’s bones; it may contain the skull of a dragon and the body of a yuan-ti while having the boney wings of a manticore.
GRAVECRAWLER - These dangerous, grey versions of the carrion crawler turn everything they touch with their horrible tentacles into statues, but not only their tentacles turn everything around them into statues, also their dangerous aura fossilizes everything around it.
Gravecrawlers are intelligent and evil carrion crawlers that also have one special tentacle which glows with a strange grey glow, when it touches a statue (it created with its fossilizing aura) with that tentacle it will animate into a stone golem-like creature that fights for the gravecrawler.
PHARGION - These strange woodlouse-like creatures are made entirely from iron, they attack by rolling over their victims crushing all their bones in the progress and feasting on their crushed corpses later.
Phargions are the greatest enemies of steel predators as they love to feast on phargion larva. Bladelings are known to use phargions as siege weapons.
RIPPER - These horrible creatures live in crowded cities full of prey. Named after the famous jack the ripper they feast on organs of helpless victims, often children and women they first torture and later tear apart, they hate fighting and often choose to escape rather than fight an armed enemy.
Rippers are illustrated in the 3e cityscape book, they are hard to describe in English words for me.
NYTH - These horrible cousins of the mischievous will-o'wisps are greatly feared by mages as they love to animate the spells cast in battle. Evil warlocks often make pacts with nyths so that they can animate their spells to help them in battle, but most nyths are very solitary and don't long to choose sides they just love to cause chaos wherever they go. Nyths appear as very colorful wisps that change into all colors of the rainbow.

Holy cow, that's a motherload of awesome right there. Thanks! I'm gonna update my upper level lists shortly... the lower level stuff I'll have to get back to, but I've got a good list for a start of a second round!

I'm glad to finally have much of my gaming stuff unpacked and be able to get back to work on my various projects. Hurray, it's on, and I've already finished levels 21 & 22! :D

EDIT: Some of these I'm going to use, some I don't have sources for and some I just don't really like. :) And a few are going to shift levels from your vision. But this is an awesome list. Thanks so much!!

Jester, can I download all of this in one file?

Sorry, I don't see how... I don't have a single file for everything.

I've lagged on doing anything with this for a while now, waiting a workable MB that uses the MM3 format... sorry guys! I'm still planning on continuing to work on this, and as time has gone by and I've gotten a better and better handle on 4e monster design, there are a TON of things that I think I might end up re-doing and cleaning up.

(Not to mention possibly revising some of these critters that WotC has subsequently published to be differing variants more in line with the 'official' design of a good monster, e.g. xvarts.)

Sooo I've had this kinda on hold pending a working monster builder that will produce purty lil pdfs I can just attach here, but since that doesn't seem to be forthcoming, I think I'm going to start exporting my OpenOffice files to pdf for my homebrews and get back to postin' them. The formatting is... well, I suspect it would be a pain in the ass to format them if I just cut and pasted.

Also, as I did most of the conversions in this project several years ago, my design sensibilities have (I think) improved an awful lot, so I'm considering going through and re-doing some of these guys, or at least touching them up so that they follow current monster math better. I'm thinking a clean-up sorta like MV did to the MM, although not in a particular hurry and more than likely starting with monsters I actually use and update.

Anyhoo, I've always had an irrational dislike of attachments and such vs. just plain posting text, so let me ask for opinions- does anyone else mind attached pdfs, or am I just being silly there?
