3.5 D&D: Into the Depths [OOC]

Angel Tarragon

Dawn Dragon
I'd like to DM a Dungeon Crawl & Bash using the 3.5 system. It'll be generic, so almost anything will be allowable, within what I believe to be reason.

Recruiting: 4-6 players. Needs at least one warrior type, one rogue, one cleric and one arcane caster type.

Post your concept and I'll give it a look over later. The only thing I'm nixing is psionics. Starting level will be from 4th to 6th and I'll be using my custom feat and ability score progression found here.

Allowable books:
All Completes (except Complete Psi), Al Racial Splats, Environmental books, Magic Item Compendium, Spell compendium, PHB II & Planar Handbook.

Goliath Fighter (Dungeoncrasher from Dungeonscape)!

Want to play!! :)

Big bruiser wearing a glaive and a spiked armor. Likes to throw his enemies around (and against wall). Someone you can trust with your life, bu he doesn't share much about his past.

I'd be up for this.

Hmm... How about a Duskblade? I've wanted to play one of those but haven't gotten the chance yet.

That would give us two fighter-types though. Barring the duskblade, I'll go with a Conjuration-focused sorcerer. That's something else I've never done before.

In fact, forget the duskblade, I like the conjurer. Hmm...

Cedric the Summoner.

Cedric was born into a city family already too large. At a young age, when his magical talents began to manifest, he was apprenticed to a local wizard. It became apparent that Cedric didn't actually have any talent for wizardry (and in fact is not remarkably bright) but he could readily gain the trust and cooperation of others. Even those not of this world.

I like it. Human, I think, since I get the impression summoners are always feat-starved. Sound good?

Sounds good Ilium. Human 5th level Conjurer will have 5 feats as per this table + 1 human bonus feat.

EDIT: If you'd like I'll allow you to take the Rapid Summoning variant in place of a familiar.

I like it. That full-round casting time is a drag. Thanks.

EDIT: Just to be clear, I'm thinking a sorcerer rather than a wizard (so not a Conjurer in the sense of a specialist wizard, just lots of conjuration magic and related feats). I find the whole "how many spells are in my spellbook" conversation too hard to manage in a PbP. Can I still have the Rapid Summoning in lieu of a familiar?

I knew you said Sorcerer, and that the variant is meant for the Wizard. But I figured, what the hell, you might like to have it instead. So yes, take it if you wish.

Also, here's some food for thought:

[smallcaps]Lingering Summons [General][/smallcaps]
Creatures you summon are particularly tough to dispel.
Prerequisite: Spellcraft 8 ranks, Greater Spell Focus (Conjuration)
Benefit: Add 2 to the DC of any caster level check made to dispel all creatures that you summon.

I've had a hankerin to play a mounted lance wielder for a while now. Maybe mix it up with something like Rogue3/Fighter2 Human.

What do you think about the carver mount from Eberron, as its just a dinonychus from the MM, except domesticated of course.

How do you feel about the war beast template from MMII which is just the exact stat difference between a heavy horse and a heavy warhorse in the MM (+1hd, +3 str, +3con, +2wis, armor prof, +10ft speed for an extra 475g)?

@ Ilium - and remember that a 5th lvl wizard has 3rd lvl spells, while a 5th lvl sorc still only has 2nd. 5th lvl is that tricky final low level 6th lvl would certainly solve all of our problems wouldn't it ;p.
