GameSpy just published an interview conducted with Andy Collins, Rob Heinsoo and James Wyatt of the 4th Edition Dungeons & Dragons team. This six page interview discusses Dungeons & Dragons Insider, the online gaming table, and WOTC taking the pen-and-paper role-playing game into the digital realm.

D&D Insider's Character Visualizer aims to leave little to the imagination.

Oh dear...

Actually I am excited about being able to play over the Internet. Definitely looking forward to DDI. If it doesn't suck I'll be a paying subscriber for sure.

What would you expect from a character visualizer? A partial sketch of a character that's shrouded in shadow? I don't think that Wizards has an interest at all of going purely digital. I'm glad that the visualizer will be that cool. It just makes sense. This rubs some people the wrong way, but I'm all for it. Usher in cool technology to enhance my games. At the end of the day, I'm still hanging out with all my friends and having a great time.
