I’m experimenting with some alternate non-physical ability scores for ‘classic’ D&D (B/X, 1e, 2e). Pretending for a moment that you COULDN’T use the default Intelligence-Wisdom-Charisma set-up, which of these set-ups would appeal to you (you can choose more than one)? Why?
OPTION A: Intellect (INT)-Wits (WIT)-Character (CHA)
INT knowing stuff (if players want to roll for this sort of thing)
INT figuring stuff out (ditto)
WIT reading intentions/inuendo/emotions
WIT noticing your environment/sounds/things out of place
WIT seeing through illusions
CHA convincing people to do things
CHA avoiding being convinced to do things
CHA resisting mind control/temptation/charms
OPTION B: Intuition (INT)-Will (WIL)-Charm (CHA)
INT reading intentions/inuendo/emotions
INT noticing your environment/sounds/things out of place
INT seeing through illusions
WIL convincing people to do things (by bullying/intimidation)
WIL avoiding being convinced to do things
WIL resisting mind control/temptation/charms
CHA convincing people to do things (by persuasion)
- There would also be an 'Intellect' skill/non-weapon proficiency for knowing stuff & figuring stuff out
