Massive EN publishing $1 sale new server fundraiser! AKA "let's buy a new server!"

OK, folks! I hate the slowdowns as much as anybody. We've done everything software-wise we can to relieve the burden on our poor, old server, but the fact remains that the hardware is years old and no longer up to the task of running a community the size of EN World.

So we're going to buy a new one. A big, fast, shiny, monster of a server. The biggest fastest one we possibly can.

To that end, we're holding a sale! All EN Publishing products* are on sale for $1 each. Every penny raised in this sale goes directly towards making EN World go faster - the more we make, the bigger a server we can get.

The sale is here:

If you've been meaning to pick up some RPG PDFs, now's the perfect time to do it. Not only do you get a great product (or ten...), but you also get a fast, responsive EN World. And that's good for all of us!

*Excluding WotBS products, as that would be unfair to those who subscribed.

I picked up a handful. Would it also be a good time to re-up Community Supporter accounts?

I was just gonna ask that. I'm not really in the market for PDFs at the moment (though I'll look!) but I had been planning on buying a community supporter account for a friend of mine. (There should be a way to buy a community supporter account for other people as gifts and stuff, if there isn't a way already.) If it'll go towards a new server that's even more of a reason for doing it now.

I don't think I want any PDF's that are for sale. However, I wouldn't mind donating money for a new server, because as is, it is pretty unbearable to come here (for me).

Is there any way of doing this, or should I just by some random PDF's that I will never use?

I'm sure it would be worth it too me to donate. If I think about much I get paid per hour, and then think about how long I wait for enworld to load, it seems infinite profitable to throw in some monies.

Ditto. I mean, I don't buy PDFs, but a new ENWorld server? I'm totally okay with funding that.

Ones I really like:

EN Critters: a good series of terrain themed 3.5 monster books, each with printable counters at the end. http://enworld.rpgnow.com/index.php?cPath=4178

Fantastic Science: Great system for including wierd tech in a D&D game as an additional integrated magic source along the existing arcane/divine/psionic paradigm. Both a fiddly point system caster class and a very cool always on warlock-like class. http://enworld.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=3155&it=1

Elements of Magic series for a construct your own spell system in d20, plus a neat class to turn spells into constant powers for non spellcasters. http://enworld.rpgnow.com/index.php?cPath=4176

Librum Equitis Compiled is a collection of flavorful prestige classes, lots of inspiring stuff for the games I ran came out of here. http://enworld.rpgnow.com/product_i...=16525&it=1&filters=0_0_0&manufacturers_id=87

I'd donate for a new server.....how do I do that?

EDIT: I suppose I could buy as many PDFs worth in dollars that I want to donate! :)

I'd rather people bought something rather than donated. I know it sounds silly, but I'm still dealing with "moral" repurcussions from the last server fund drive, years ago. I've realised that freely given donations aren't necessarily freely given, and come back to bite you years later. This way, I know I've sold folks something at a price.

So, if you just want to donate and don't want the PDFs, I'd still rather you purchased stuff. I hate to sound ungrateful, but the "donation" model is a heavy weight to bear, and tends to have strings attached when you're not expecting it. :)
