Cool Symbols vs Suck Symbols...

So I was thinking of symbols, and what types of words or objects make good symbols... and I thought it would be fun to create a list of what people thought made good symbols vrs ones they thought would be silly...

For example: Eyes make good symbols. Eye of Sauron, Evil eye, Eye of doom. Sounds cool right?

Earlobe on the other hand. Earlobe of terror... not the same. (Unless you're writing a Tick comic.)

So what other words do you think make good symbols? Which ones are bad? Which can be either or?
