How Do YOU Envision 4th Edition?

When you imagine the epic heroics of your characters within the game, how do you imagine it? Is the drama being played out in your head an anime? Live-action movie? Still images, like the page of a comic book? Or is it something altogether different?

I know 4th Edition is pulling from all sorts of fantasy sources (Lord of the Rings, Warhammer, World of Warcraft, Previous Editions of D&D, other tabletop games, etc.) to make the game we know and love even better (well, for most people), but when I saw the below videos I thought to myself, "That's MY D&D!" I mean, seriously, it has clerics and paladins with flaming hammers that smite, dwarves that take a killing blow to the face and keep going, semi crazy goblins doing semi crazy things, fire mages raining death upon their enemies, unrelenting orc hordes literally flying at you in their rage, as well as dark wizards, warlocks, and sorcerers causing untold wontan destruction galore!

That's how I see it (except for the primitive guns and bikini babes). Now, how do you envision 4e D&D? Feel free to post pictures or video links of your own to better explain your imaginings if you want.

I tend to envision most RPGs as anime, but the "That's MY D&D!" feeling you're describing? That was me the first time I saw Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. Oh wow.

I envision it as real people... or live action if you will, and with relatively little special effects actually. Have you ever seen the movie Ladyhawke? Or Robin Hood? Stuff like that.

I picture all editions of D&D as being something like the following:

I envision it as live-action and with cinematic angles, etc. like a movie with some occasional slow-motion; Equilibrium-esque scenes (especially considering Guns and Gunkata is relevant in many of my settings). Generally they are pretty brutal too.

Environmentally/Monsters, everything has a worn and lived-in appearance even if it is fantastical.

As a tabletop wargame.

Honestly, 4E is so non-immersive/simulationist that it's impossible for me to imagine the characters as anything other than "tokens" in a game.

Just to continue from my previous post, this isn't a bad representation of how I envision some of my combat.
