The Temple of Lauto

Arriving at the temple behind Jynxx, Azryah follows him inside. To whomever she finds there, she says,

"Hello, my name is Azryah. I saw your notice, however I would like to ask some questions and find out some more information before I commit my services. Is there one that I could talk to about such matters?"

Her voice has a soft quality to it when she speaks. She tries to keep it friendly, and not in any way demanding.

[sblock=OOC]Azryah is a Level 1 Avenger.

Additionally, I should note that she still needs 1 more approval.[/sblock]

Bringing up the rear of the convoy toward the Lauto Temple, Chaku's head is on a constant swivel as he does his best to note landmarks and places of interest. As Azryah brings up her inquiry, he nods and adds, Yes, more detail is needed before I commit my lifeblood to this cause. I am interested, however I would hear the answers before officially signing on.

[sblock=OOC]Chaku is 0 for 2 on approvals currently as well.[/sblock]

Jynxx looks at the sign, reading it four times before he comments. He enters the Temple, "My name is Jynxx, although many call me Lucky. I would offer my services if you will have me."

[sblock=CaBaNa]

Jynxx is a Kalashar Bard (leader). He's not yet approved. Has been submitted though... twice. lol [/sblock]

Inside the Temple Jynnx can see obvious (to him) signs of distress. Every Acolyte that bustles by seems almost on the verge of panic. The young human Jynnx spoke to begins to answer when...

Azryah doesn't have the same impression of the Temple, to her it seems as if everyone may be a little tense, but constantly toiling under the god of death can do that.

The Acolyte begins to speak up again when...

Chaku steps into the grand foyer of the Temple of Lauto; Daunton. The towering male specimen notes that the Acolyte doesn't even move to answer him, the young human just stares at the door for a moment.

After seconds of silence, the young Acolyte mumbles, Pompous Halfling knew... clearing his throat, the agitated fellow stands from his duty of scrubbing the foyer floor. You'll have to speak with High Priest Belingras, most everything coming out of his office these days is confidential. If you'll take a seat in the waiting room down the hall, I'm sure his personal clerk will show you in.

The Acolyte looks over his shoulder, then leans in conspiratorially, Tread lightly, things are... tense.

With that he returns to his work of scrubbing the floor by hand.

Don't have more time now, I'll shoot more information after I get off work.

There is an adventure coming up right after mine, so I'm not super concerned about taking ONLY first characters. I would like to have at least half the part be firsts though.

Seems we have seven interested, I can only take six. We could let the RP make the decision, or I could roll dice to see who gets the slots.

3 slots MUST be first time characters.

Those who are worried about approval, don't.

I'm a character checker, and I won't hand out XP until everyone is approved.

The judges are catching up right now, what with holidays and new year.

I'm off to work, I'll likely escort anyone in the waiting room into Belingras office tonight ;)

Azryah nods to the acolyte in thanks.

"Thank you muchly. I believe I will wait to speak with the high priest, or his clerk, then."

With that, she heads off in the direction indicated to wait patiently, statuesque, until someone can help her with answers.

[sblock=OOC]I'm personally content to let RP work it out, at least in-so-far-as ensuring that all characters are, indeed, interested. If it turns out after some RP that 7 people truly want to go, then we could go from there? That's my take on it. I'm not entirely certain that Az will want to go, but undead is not something to take lightly, so she at least needs some more info before deciding. In fact, I'm not even sure it's undead, she's just currently assuming that based on oth PC comments in the tavern, but this is why she needs more information before committing.[/sblock]

Jynxx, content that he has a general idea of the goings on, turns back to the acolyte. "It would seem... you are in a trouble of sorts. Enough so that your fellow disciples are scurrying around in panic."

"Given your god, and the rumor of undead... this must be terrible indeed to have the faithful nervous. While I wait, tell me what you can. I'd more more than willing to hear the tale twice."

Neurotic

I plan on living forever. Or die trying.
"I'll wait. If the rumor's true, I'm in for sure. No chance I'll let such things fester again."

EDIT: re-reading page 3 I can see that I jumped the gun with announcing undead they are mentioned in posts before CaBaNa adventure call and I can surmise by several comments of leaving and CaBaNa's own character there that it's tail of some other adventure. Sorry :( IC we shouldn't know anything concrete about undead, only that it's temple of Lauto looking for help...

Papolstaanas the kobold enters the temple with Kaeysari the shifter. He is babbling excitedly while skipping closely enough at her side that she has to be careful to avoid clonking him on the head with her glaive as she walks. "--not much, although Mother insisted that I learn the sword, she says that all true gentlemen have to know how, so that they can fight robbers and defend ladies and such, and there's other things I can do, I sort of learned them by myself in the woods, I mean, it's a little hard to explain, but I won't let you down, I really--"

Upon seeing the others gathered, Papolstaanas immediately becomes more subdued. "Has... has anyone given out any information yet?" he asks timidly. "About the, the job, I mean."

"We're told to wait." states one of two statues present. Only eyes move to track little creature and even that is hard to say with uniform color of deva eyes.

Without pointing, but with the direction of his gaze making it clear that he is talking about the devas, Papolstaanas leans toward Kaeysari and whispers, "What are they?"

"They're called Devas," says Kaeysari. "As to what they are, I'm not sure. They say that they're reincarnated spirits of some sort, continually reborn in the world. Interesting that they've come to this place, although I suppose they need to work like anyone else."
