Apologies for the newbie question here, but where do I determine what money my character has to acquire starting gear?

The beginning of the Equipment section in the Player Hand book states that you begin with 100 gp to start your character off.

Ah, thanks. I haven't yet gotten myself very familiarized with the books.

I was just responding to the discussion concerning the shortage of Leaders and offering another possibility. The artificer class is listed in the Eberron Player's Guide.

It is I who should apologize for the confusion (and I do. Sorry).
