High Magic Build Help

Hello everyone and good Caturday,

I'm going to be starting a High Magic Campain soon and i need help with character build. I was going to go Focused Specialist Conjourer and go Summon Monster Happy, but another player is going Focused Specialist Conjourer and i don't want to have two players kinda the same.

So I was thinking of going Druid, as Sorc and Cleric don't really appeal to me.

Can anyone sudgest a good Druid Build in a High Magic Campain. So I guess I'ld be going blaster happy.

I have access to all books and the DM might allow Planer Shepard.

Thank you.

From what I understand, your physical attributes will be generally less important than your mental ones... (even moreso than the other casters, as when wildshaping you take the animals physical traits not yours) so you can wildshape and fight well without high str/dex(at least).

I'm no expert, as when I asked as a new player about making a druid, I was told to avoid it as a first character, so I didn't get much info.

Druid is a great class for casting or for melee DPS. I had a druid who at 12th level in a high magic campaign could do around 200-250 on a regular basis just by casting girallon's blessing. That was damage before animal growth or any other spells that you could cast for better damage. I will look around for it, but I am on my lunch break right now so I don't have time.

A friend is playing a druid at the current campaign and he has pretty good build. We stretched the rules a bit but his build is very powerful. He shapes into a dinosaur and he has put some templates at this creature, i this the templates are warforged, lolth touched and some from eberon campaign setting. He has Leap Attack and Lions Pounch so when he charges he makes a full attack. He also has some dr and i thing regeneration. You can search for more templates i think they give pretty cool characteristics to your wild share.

My opinion is to start with a level or two of monk tou get the ac bonus and some other stuff and when you reach druid level 9 you can cast Owl's Insight from Spell Compedium and your AC will be pretty high.

An other thing... you must be careful that the templates that you apply should not change the Animal type because you can only shape into animal form.

I've looked for Druid Handbooks, and they seem really basic. Do Druids compare to Wizards at high level magic or do Wizards blow everything out of the water?
