  • D&D on-line research project "We are conducting market research on Dungeons & Dragons. Plannerzone, Inc. has been retained by Wizards of the Coast to do some market research pertaining to Dungeons & Dragons. We are interested in talking to people who play, and are passionate about, D&D. We’re creating a private D&D blog just for this project and inviting players to join the discussion. We’ll ask everyone who agrees to participate and qualifies to visit the blog discussion for three visits over about ten days— on your own time. Overall, the online discussion will take about 2 hours over that week to ten days. If you’re interested in seeing if you qualify to participate, please email Sage Baker at sbaker12@austin.rr.com. She handles recruiting for Plannerzone. Please be assured there are no sales involved. This is strictly for research purposes only."

  • The New World A new free 4E campaign setting is available as a free download. The New World Primer is the first supplement of a campaign setting about a newly discovered continent, suitable for most fantasy worlds. The first expedition from the old world has just landed on the shores of the New World to start the first settlement. The name and exact location of the continent is left undescribed so you can more easily fit the New World in your campaign. A few dozen colonists, including a brave party of heroes (i.e. the player characters), band together as they try to tame the savage wilderness, make peace with the native tribes and establish the first settlement. The supplement provides all you need to get started in the New World.
  • Official D&D Updates:
    • Fiction: Black Crusade Compiled From the far end of the hall came the sudden tromp of heavy boots, echoing in the cramped confines of the stairway. The priest and the pontiff spun as one, confused as to who could possibly be intruding on this terrible, wonderful moment.

[imager]http://www.ennie-awards.com/images/ENnies%20color%20logo%20transparent.png[/imager]A note from the Gen Con EN World RPG Awards staff:
Hello once again from the ENnies!

As you know, the window for submissions has closed. The judges now face the difficult task of picking which products out of the plethora of received material deserve to be nominated. It's a daunting task, to say the least.

One of the judges, Jeramy Ware, has done an excellent job of listing products that have been submitted. If you wish to see what your favorite company/website submitted, visit this link.

Eventually, the fans will be presented with a list of nominees and can make their voices heard. They will also have the ability to nominate their favorite publishers for the "Fan's Choice for Best Publisher" ENnie.

In this update, I've included a list of dates to put on your calendar. Here's what you have to look forward to:

  • June 1 - Product submissions closed
  • July 10 - Fans can start nominating publishers for the "Fan's Choice for Best Publisher" ENnie.
  • July 13 - Nominees for products will be announced
  • July 17 - Last day to nominate publishers
  • July 24 - The fan voting begins!
  • July 24 - Those who wish to take up the mantle of "ENnies Judge" start to officially campaign for the position
  • Aug 1 - Last day of fan voting
  • Aug 2 - Voting for ENnies judges begins
  • Aug 9 - Voting for ENnies judges closes
  • Aug 14 - The ENnie Awards ceremony at GenCon
These dates are subject to change, of course, but should never change by more than one or two days.

I don't know about you, but I'm getting more and more excited about the ENnies, and GenCon itself, by the day! I look forward to seeing most of you come August. If you're going to be at GenCon and want to volunteer your time at the ENnies booth in the Dealer's Hall, you can get more information here.

As always, if you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them. You can either reply here or e-mail me directly at pr@ennieawards.com.
