As Girth lay in a tumbled heap up against the bulwark his eyes were drawn to the whirling sigils in front of him.

"At last" he breathed, sotto voce, "She has answered!"

His voice rose to a scream as he leapt to his feet "She has answered!"

With surprising agility the warlock started jigging about the deck, arms flailing, head up, tilted to the heavens. Incomprehensible chanting came from deep in his throat, almost hypnotic had it been even remotely in tune -- which it wasn't!

The captain kicks the bucket off of Dang't's head, and suddenly he can see again. Beaming, he declares, All better! and then goes to gather his seat once more.

Beyrk straightens up, pulling up his belt and says loudly, "Oy what are you on about Girth!" His sea legs keep him quite steady despite the lurching ship. He heads in the direction that the captain indicated, taking his time. If he feels the ship slip more to that side he stops and retreats rather than throwing his bulk into capsizing the ship.

Hrav heads over to Girth and the sigils, drawing his rapier as he dashes across the deck.

"Hey, Girth, what did you do?!"

[sblock=I'm back!]... and hopefully it will last, this time. My line seemed fixed for a couple of days, but apparently it actually wasn't. Reeeeally been pissed for a few days.
Sorry for the inconvenience, all. Here is Alex' updated sheet, Phoenix![/sblock]

Alex is leaning on the mast, trying hard to suppress the nausea from the hangover. As tough and big as he was, he'd never been a great drinker. The sudden, violent movement of the ship didn't really help, either. Regardless, when he hears something about earning the pay, the thought of finally getting to try Cleaver springs to his mind and he suddenly feels much better. He takes out the big axe and staggers to where the rest of his companions are.
'M here, here! Sorry. What's up with Girth's art?

The timbers of the Bloody Wake quiver and creak with the strain. Then like a mast line breaking, the tension seems to snap and the ship splashes back down and settles into the course it had been set on before. The sigils on the deck have lost their glow and returned to being the same carvings that they were before. Girth feels a lingering glow inside of him begin to dim and fade away. As it fades, he thinks of the book full of loose map pages he found when they killed that dragonborn lady who tricked them.

[sblock=OOC]No fight yet folks. Sorry to disappoint. Just a hint of future happenings there and to let everyone know that Girth's sigils weren't just artwork. I love having what seems to be a stable crew of PC's for possible future adventures. Makes foreshadowing possible and more fun. Not that it always works out (as in the case of Brudd and the big sword in 'Captain's Caper'). And now, back to our regularly scheduled adventure.[/sblock]

Dang't scratches his head, then ambles over to where everyone is gathered. Seeing the strange marks, he notes, Ship has tattoo now. Good for ship. Who give it tattoo?

OOC: He'll make an Arcana check to see if he can figure anything out about it.

"Wait! I back soon" Girth looked disappointed when his sigils stopped glowing but after a moment's reflection he raced off to the cabins and returned shortly with a tied up book.

"Here. Maps we have. You look?" He shoved the map book towards the Captain. "Where bumping ship point to. You look at maps, yes?"

Is that ancient greek or modern? Or has the word stayed the same?[/sblock]
