[sblock=ooc]One-Who-Waits is both a leader and a first character, although a retrieve-something-for-some-rich-guy task is not especially well-suited to him. (He's a goody-goody, not a mercenary.) I can probably find an excuse to join if he is needed, but I could also wait for something else.

Oh and LOL at Ozy for Zharne's excuse for not joining :D[/sblock]

Have I really been on this site for over 20 years!

Let me just say I'd appriciate getting a leader in the group, and I'll let you know the mission is a little more "goody goody" than what he's allowed to tell you right now.

Something about being on a boat seems to bother Jade, but she doesn't seem the slightest bit ill thinking about it. "Well, I'm not looking forward to a sea trip... Maybe I can stay inside until we get there."

[sblock=OOC]On Puget Sound: With jade's CON, I don't think sea sickness should be too much of a problem. ;)

DarwinofMind: While I AM a controller, I'm a melee controller and a damage sponge. On top of that I have an at will basic melee attack that slows so I should be able to act as a second defender. Just keep those area attacks away from me. :p

"Attention, Here ye Here ye, My master is interested in the employ of a group of... specialists such as yourselves" he seems to roll his eyes at that. "The employ is a one off contract with no option for further employment. The mission is the retrieval of a non living object from a unexplored underground ruin, possible dangerous. Mission must be undertaken with discretion."

One-Who-Waits observes the recruiters for a while in thoughtful silence, one eyebrow slightly quirked--whether in surprise or amusement it is difficult to tell. "This one's talents are very few and very meager," he says quietly. "and certainly, retrieving objects from underground ruins cannot be said to be one of them, as this inexperienced young fool has never done any such thing. Indeed, this one in his great ignorance did not realize that such pursuits were considered a 'specialty' at all."

One-Who-Waits turns his gaze to Yimayngurr, with whom he was just recently conversing, and looks for a moment as though he has something to say to the half-orc, but then apparently thinks better of it and remains silent. He turns back calmly to his bowl of stew.

One-Who-Waits turns his gaze to Yimayngurr, with whom he was just recently conversing, and looks for a moment as though he has something to say to the half-orc, but then apparently thinks better of it and remains silent. He turns back calmly to his bowl of stew.

Yimayngurr observes One-Who-Waits' brief look out of the corner of his eye. After a moment he strolls back to the bar and taps the deva on the shoulder, "What's that then mate? Something eating at ya? Seems as though ya've just swallowed your words. Either that, or the barkeep must've put a cane toad in your soup, eh?," Yimayngurr says while miming a toad being dropped into a bowl, and the contents overflowing. When the deva doesn't laugh he adds, "Only joking. Sorry mate."

Yimayngurr scratches his head for a moment, a slightly worried expression on his brow. "Tell ya what though, this bit with the vision I got, the one Wititj gave me, has got me a bit worried. I reckon I'm not the best at puzzling out what the ancestors are trying to say. If you're thinking on signing up for this errand, it would for true set me mind at ease. If a body like yourself, who knows the ways of the spirits, was to join us, it might help me ta keep meself on the right dhukarr, the right path, eh? Just in case them great ancestors decides ta put more worryin' sights in me head."

"Besides, I reckon you're a might better at finding things than you let on. The little ancestors know heaps about the hidden things, and for them as can speak with them nothing stays secret for long. Whaddaya say mate?"

One-Who-Waits turns back to Yimayngurr as he is speaking, his face showing more animation than before: he has the slight frown of someone who is searching attentively for something that as yet eludes him. "The worthy Kythiran must forgive this one, who in his careless overestimation of his own wisdom thought to speak of seeing something definite, which was merely a shadow. It was but a foolish impulse; words with no understanding behind them are wasted. The spirits that follow the worthy Kythiran speak words that this one cannot hear; it is perhaps because they realize that this one does not know their ways and so would misunderstand them, or perhaps because they do not wish to reveal secrets that this uncultured stranger is not entitled to know."

One-Who-Waits carefully scrapes the last of the stew from the bowl with his spoon and eats it. "This one knows nothing of ruins or crypts. He has no desire for money. But if the honored Kythiran wishes for what little guidance an unlearned and injudicious spirit-talker can provide, then this unworthy soul will provide it most willingly, for it is most blameable to refuse a request for something so insignificant."

Once again, it is difficult to tell whether the deva is joking or not.

[sblock=ooc]And a cane toad in the soup is just gross. Eww. :p[/sblock]

.."No, I don't like how you smell,..."

Eithal sniffs herself and then turns to Zharne and whispers, "Ah think it's the feeish, honey."

"Sounds good. But... A three week voyage? Does that mean a boat?" Jade sounded a little unsure about the boat part but sounds up for the adventure.

Upon hearing Jade's uneasiness, Eithal tries to comfort her, "Ah'm not tew hayappy 'bout it mahsayelf dearie, but ayas long ayas it ayends with yah feeit on solid grayound, it'll be ohll raht."

A sea voyage. Splendid! Oh, Jade, don't worry, you will love it! Blue sky and clear blue water as far as you can see, the clean smell of fresh salt air, the gentle rocking to put you to sleep at night, back and forth, back and forth... Jade? Are you OK? You look a bit pale.

Eithal gives the gnome a disapproving look, much like a mother would give her child after it makes a disgusting comment at the dinner table, "chile' yewah makin' the po lady siyeck." She puts her massive arm around Jade, "Yew ohll raht honey? The wave's ain' all thayat bayad. It's the pahrets thayat bothah me."

Gloom, still with an headache, listen to the employer who just entered. "Not a worthy cause" he murmured himself before finishing his glass of water.

"Good onya mate! That's the spirit," Yimayngurr declares with a grateful gleam in his eye. His oysters not having arrived, Yimayngurr singals the barkeep to cancel his order. He shuffles back to the messengers' table.

The passage to Allaria takes 3 weeks and we really must hurry so please make arrangements for the voyage soon."

"Right then gents, when do we leave? Don't have much to pack, just me spears and what I've got on me."

"Well, I'm not looking forward to a sea trip... Maybe I can stay inside until we get there."

To Jade he says, "Cheer up little miss. It's not all that bad once ya've got your sea legs. Besides, we'll all be eating well. Plenty of lip-smackin fish fry! Them three weeks'll pass in a tic"
