That makes more sense to me as well. That way the mount is still limited to one magic item effect.

Putting that on a pair of stirrups and specifying that it's for movement related effects would probably work best.

staying off topic - it should have been 3-0 (or just 2-0 perhaps). Can't blame everything on the referees - if you concede two goals in a game, you deserve to loose.

Btw, I wanted to introduce myself OoC here:
I'm Joe - a physics grad student living in Cambridge Ma., I haven't played DnD with "pen and paper" since there was last an "A" on the name, but I've played in Eberron via DDO a lot the last few years.
I have listened to all the Penny Arcade/PvP WotC podcasts though, so I <sarcarsm>obviously know exactly how all the rules go.</sarcasm>
My Character (pending approval) is kal'Tarron, a Deva Avenger (http://leb.wikia.com/wiki/LEB:PC:kal'Tarron_Alrahain(rb780nm) - who is probably min-maxed to the point of being useless unless there is someone standing infront of him to hit - but I can always kill him off if I get bored
