[Adventure] Into the King's Forest (Judge: THB)

renau1g

First Post
With a nod to Brews in exchange for his drinks the duo heads out into the rainy Sharn cityscape, with Luthan in tow, setting out to the King's Forest

It is quite the distance from Clifftop where you are currently located to Terminus in Lower Tavick's Landing where the passage out of the city is located. It is called Wroann's Gate, the location of the Orien trade route, known as the Old Road.

[sblock=ooc]
Where you are at to where the lightning rail gets going is almost opposite ends of the city. How shall you travel? Foot, skycoach, horse rental?

[sblock=Rules]
Rules of Play:

1. Please include your quick stats in your post on the first post of a new page, on each post in combat, and on the first post where your status has changed.

2. In combat I will track your hitpoints and status effects but I'd like you to do the same in your quick stats. After all, I am not perfect.

3. If you are using a wishlist, and it gets updated, please let me know. If you are not using a wishlist, no worries.

4. I will rarely assign treasure to an individual. It is up to you to split things as fairly as you deem.

5. I will roll initiative for all. You do not need to wait for you're turn in initiative to post your actions. Enemies will go on one initiative.

I will resolve actions in initiative order. If someone posts after you've posted actions and it changes your action, I'll allow a change to the post (but must keep the same dice rolls)

If you tie for initiative with the enemy, higher initiative modifier wins.

6. I will not post full stats for enemies. All status effects will be posted. Auras will be posted once they first take noticeable affect. HP will be posted once bloody. Defenses will be revealed individually once hit. Some familiar monsters are modified.

7. If an sblock is labeled for someone other than you, I ask you not to read it.

8. If you do not post for 2 days, and we are in a skill challenge or combat encounter, I will post for you. I will only use At-Will Powers.

9. If you have an image you'd like to use for your token, please send me the file renau1g(at)gmail.com.

10. If Invisible Castle is down may use Dice Room or post your actions and I will make the rolls.[/sblock]

The rain bounces off of Unit 16 without phasing him. "I have not, either. Is it expensive?"

OOC: How much is it? If it's less than like 20g, I think it'd be cool!

You recall seeing a flyer as you entered Sharn hanging near Wroann's Gate.

If you have coin to spare, the swiftest method of travel is one of the wonders of Sharn: the skycoach. Magical energy flows through the very air surrounding our city, allowing these vessels to soar through the sky with the ease of a Lyrandar airship. The City Council has fixed the price of transport at one silver per mile; don't let a cunning coachman charge more than he should!"

[sblock=Cost]
I'd say maybe a gold piece or so should suffice.

Dragonshards -- Welcome to Sharn!

[sblock=ooc]1gp for sky coach, please!

ps. So we just put this on our sheets or what? I haven't spent money yet in a PbP game. :)[/sblock]

[sblock=sharn]"If you were to look down upon the city from above, you would be able to identify five distinct sections or quarters..."

Really? It's really divided into five quarters? :)[/sblock]

Since neither of us have ridden in one, let's go! The half orc glides along the rain slicked ground toward a nearby skycoach signpost, waiting there nought for a minute or two before an available coach glides down for his fare. After confirming pricing, she steps in and slides to one side allowing the warforged and elf to enter as well.

Unaccustomed to being off the ground, Unit 16 is somewhat uneasy at first, but gradually comes around to it. The view is clearly impressive. "Very efficient method of travel," he remarks.

While flying, he asks the elf, "Are you going to escort us to the location of this creature or will we need to track it?"

As the skycab carries them across the city, Ryda’s enthusiasm wanes. Efficient yes, but I prefer to keep my feet on the ground, or close enough to it that I can jump down with ease. She turns to face the others, poignantly avoiding looking out the windows.

The towers zip by as the driver expertly handles the coach, the open-aired vessel moves quickly through the city. The man smiles at the duo's discussions.

The elf looks nervously around at the magical devices then turns his attention to Unit 16.

"Yes, we know where it lairs, it has a cave that it sleeps in, which another group we hired managed to locate before they failed to return. I can escort you to the general area, but I must return to my people for I am the last defender they have against the dangers." Luthan replies.

[sblock=OOC]
The sky coach is more of an open aired vehicle than a car. It is similar to those hover skiffs that Jabba had in Return of the Jedi. I've attached the battlemap of one from the ECS for a frame of reference. I'll allow any further questions while the flight is going on.[/sblock]

Ryda shifts and the rain starts pelting her in the face, irritating her even more than not having her feet of the ground. Shifting again so it resumes pelting her in the back, she states, That should be good enough, I’m a decent enough tracker, and if it’s causing as much destruction as you say, it should be pretty easy to find. Any idea if it’s nocturnal, or how smart it is, it might be nice to hit it while it sleeps, or lure it into a trap.
