Patrin can't quite recovers from the beating he took from the dead troopers but still manage to get the better of the warfoged when they clash.

Archers and a guard are harrying Haruka.

A would be sniper tries to get in position and surprise the heroes but trips on a bucket and swears loudly, ruining the surprise. He jumps back on his feet and loose and and arrow toward Ashir. The arrow flys true and the wizard is wounded.

Back at the entrance, the guards are proving an apt challenge while the elite trooper is closing.

Haruka gently extends her arm and brushes the guard. As she does so, he swings at her, but she doesn't seem to notice the hit. A second later, both of the nearby cultists drop to the floor. She smiles playfully at Ashir as she continues down the hall.

Ashir sees Patrin battling the warforged and knows they need to keep moving lest they get caught in the pincers of their enemies. The genasi smiles as Haruka removes a few of their foes that are harrying them from behind and creates another blast of fire behind the warforged, catching it by surprise and causing some burns.

Raiko slashes down at the guard but his blow is also deflected. He hears the other guard approaching and does not care for their current position. He moves past his allies to meet the new threat and the guard gets a solid hit in at his back.

"I'll hold him off if you keep me alive." He says as he passes Max.

Sheng moves behind Max, and with a weaving of his hands, and some fluid movements of his arms, he conjured the black skull of chaos again which floated towards the guard in front of Max. The man is caught by the screeching monstrosity, and screams, submerged in an deadly nightmare where he was eaten alive by millions of cockroaches. He tried futilely to remove the illusory vermin, up to the point to use his weapon. He pierced his belly with the blade, and gutted himself. The man gasped his last breath, and fall dead.

"If you could show me a good display of martial arts, I'll be most delighted." the sorceror says, ironically.

"You got it Raiko!" Max states with authority. Turning quickly to the warlock, giving him a smirk look he states "He can dodge our blades, but not his own. I don't think he was expecting that!" pointing to the dead guard. Looking up behind the warlock, he says sternly, "I may not be able to teach you martial arts, but I can tell you when to duck!. The archer behind me looks like his about to fire. Can you take him down while I help out Raiko?" Not waiting for an answer he readies himself to assist the paladin. All the while he can't help but think of some of the stories his dad used to tell him. With a smile on his face, he thinks to himself...Now I know what you were talking about dad...it doesn't get better than this...joking with comrades in the heat of battle! YESSS!

Patrin struggles, he just can't recover! His attacks are erratics and only through great effort does he manages to injure the warforged. The soldier of iron retaliates viciously and Patrin is injured.

The sniper is intent on finishing Ashir and almost succeeds.

The archer keeps harassing Haruka but he needs help because alone he can't do much to sap the warlock's unnatural vitality.

Entrance

The guard and archers are inneficient at trying to take down the heroes.

The elite trooper, on the other hand, lives up to his reputation and kocks out Raiko with a clean hit.

Max moment of happiness vanishes as he witnesses the brutal attack on Raiko. "Get up Raiko! That was a lucky hit. It's your turn to return the favor!" Max, with a surge of new found energy, pivots on his heals and thrusts his sword into the midsection of the guard behind him, dropping the guard instantly.

"Sheng, don't worry about the archer, he's mine." Max charges the archer yelling a battle cry. His attack misses, but now he has the archer's attention.
