Again Raiko! We got'm now! Max yells. Raiko responds by slicing off a chunk of bear meat from the right leg. The bear roars in pain.

I believe Ashir's hp should have been 11 at end of last round + 1 hp from this round's sustaining the sphere from the Tome, not a big deal though.[/sblock]

Ashir continues to draw the strength of the healing fires from the tome and as the fight drags on the genasi's natural endurance keeps him going. If anything the weakening assault allows him to focus more on the arcane powers at his disposal rather than keeping his wounds closed. With a casual sweep of his hand another blast of thunder smashes into the drake, pushing it back from Ashir and then the wizard rushes into the clearing to get some additional room to move around.

[sblock=Tome]
Just a reminder to me:

Property: When you use a wizard fire power that can be sustained through this tome, you regain hit points equal to the tome’s enhancement bonus each round that you sustain the power while bloodied. For example, if you used the flaming sphere power with a tome of the replenishing flame +2, you would regain 2 hit points each round you sustain the flaming sphere while you are bloodied. [/sblock]

[sblock=ooc]
Minor: Sustain the Sphere - regain 1 hp from Tome
Standard: Thunderwave on Drake - vs fort; thunder (1d20+7=19, 1d6+9=15), just hits for 15 thunder
Move: Move to K8

fire (1d4+9=13) damage to bear at start of turn.

"Ashir! Did you come to help?" Despite being bloodied and bedraggled, Haruka still smiles brightly at her companion's arrival, "I appreciate your concern, but I have everything under control." As she speaks she makes a quick series of gestures, and her adversary is completely engulfed in hellish fires. Her smile widens. "See. All the fey are dead." Haruka nods, clearly pleased with herself. "Have you guys finished off their pets yet?"

[sblock=Actions]Move: Shift to K3, lose concealment.

This is it! Victory is at hand! Only enraged beast remain and they are too stupid to know when they are beaten. The Cave Bear is attacking all around in a frenzy with no success. The drake has better focus.

Hell's Basement 1 on Virtual Battlemat

[sblock=OOC]All right, we could wait for Scorpius but it's pretty much a straightforward hit or miss basic attack proposition, with the Bear at 5 hp.

vs Bear (1d20+10+2=16)

Miss the stupid bear.

Frenzy, close burst 1 (1d20+10=23, 1d20+10=11, 2d8+5=16)

Forgot to specify the order of attack but since it has always been Raiko then Max so far, it wouldn't be fair not to keep it. 2 misses.

Drake
vs Ashir (1d20+11=28, 2d6+3=8)

Did he ever roll a hit that could be stopped with Shield?

Max sees that the bear is near death, and takes advantages of its lack of defense. He drives his sword forward with all of his strength. The sword burries in bear flesh to the hilt, and as a result, the bear collapses and dies. Another one down Max says trying to catch his breath. Let's get that drake.

[sblock=VB is down]And there is only a drake left...

This is his cue to rediscover animal instinct and flee! The fight is over.

Assuming it goes down for over a week at a time, which it often does, I'll prepare next encounter the old fashioned way.
[/sblock]

The drake is beset on all side and finally realize its masters are long dead. Hissing in fear it dashes away.

The enemies are routed, the village is safe! For the moment, anyway. Because the heroes still seem to be stuck in this hunting preserve of a plane. At any rate, there is a camp to inspect. Maybe it contains something useful.

[sblock=Loot and XP!]What, you clicked on that box hoping to get actual numbers? Silly players. This is where I tell you I am working on the numbers. Coming soon!

With two encounters counting double XP, we can again expect some level increases.[/sblock]
