Monk Unarmed Strike

I noticed when I use Character Builder all my powers print off with their standard damage even though I chose the feat Improved Monk Unarmed Strike. For example, Eternal Mountain 2d8, Strike the Avalanche 2d10, Dragon's Tail 2d6. Does the feat Improved Monk Unarmed Strike increase all damage dice for monks to d10, or does it only help in basic attacks (ie. when doing OA's)? If it only works for OA's is it worth it, or would you recommend something else?
