Adventurer
After going through hundreds of entries, the judges have narrowed the field and selected the nominees for each of the 20 categories. On behalf of the judges and the Board of Directors, please allow me to congratulate each publisher for their nomination(s) for the Tenth Annual ENnie Awards. Voting for the ENnies will begin on July 16th. Until then, feel free to view the nominees and offer your own congratulations.

Visit the official announcement page for links to all of the products listed below: http://www.ennie-awards.com/blog/?page_id=784

The judges have chosen five products for each category below. The HM products (Honorable Mention) are products that the judges really liked, but fell short of an actual nomination. For more information, click on a product’s name. Winners will be announced on the evening of Friday, August 6th at Gen Con!

If you are a nominee, click here for the ENnie Awards 2010 Nominee image badge to place on your product’s website/marketing material.

Fans: Feel free to download a flyer for you to print out and take to your Friendly Local Gaming Store to spread the word about the ENnies: 2010 ENnies Nominee Flyer

And don’t forget to look at who will be running for a spot as a judge for next year’s ENnies: 2010 Judge Nominees. Voting for the judges will take place at the same time as voting for the products on Friday, July 16th.

Fan Award of Best Publisher

For all the other ENnie Award categories, a panel of fan-elected judges selects their favorite products upon which the world at large votes. However, when it comes to Best Publisher, the ENnies go to fandom directly and asks their opinion. To nominate a publisher, visit the 2010 ENnies Fan Award for Best Publisher Nomination Form. You have until July 14th to nominate a publisher.

The inclusion of the Warriors Adventure Game in the Best Free Product category is an interesting choice.

My daughter is a Warriors fan and we've played it a couple of times. I'm curious to see if Harper Collins acknowledges (or even notices) the nomination.

The Warriors Adventure Game was actually created by Stan! and he will be at the ceremony. :)

Really? I did not know that. That's pretty spiffy. :D

And it is a nice, simple, diceless system for younger players.

It's a nice, simple, diceless system that has helped one kid I know really start reading.

Just to share a quick story, I had always seen Warriors books at my girlfriend's work. One of her boss's kids is always packing them around, so I printed him out a copy of the game, bound it up and left it at the shop for him thinking he'd like it. Turns out, he's interested in the Warriors books but struggles like hell to read them. His mom told me he's behind on his reading and they're having him tested for learning disabilities, ADHD, dyslexia and so on because he gets lost in text really easy, gets frustrated and doesn't read more than a couple pages at a time because of it.

Anyhow, I guess after he got his hands on the Warriors Adventure Game he sits down with his book and just powers through them, turning them into adventures for his brothers. For a kid that used to spend more than a month getting through one book he has been knocking them out at the rate of one a week on average.

And he made me a card:Dhttp://www.thevigilant.net/warriors/

The point of this drawn out post was to say thank you to Stan! You really deserve the nomination.
