I am interested in learning to play. Ive never played pathfinder and never played p2p.

First, welcome to the boards!

If you haven't played Pathfinder and don't have any of the books yet, you can look at the online guide to get an initial feel of what it is all about. The Pathinder SRD is a free online resource to get a feel for the rules.

It is really worth buying the Core Rulebook though. It fills in a lot of gaps, has great artwork and is well written. You can generally find the core rulebook at the local gaming store, bookstore or order online from Paizo or other online sources. Here is a link to the Core Rulebook page on Paizo's site:

You can also get the PDF version of the Core Rulebook for $9.99 there as well. An awesome deal if PDFs are your thing and a great way to see what the actual rulebook is all about.

Once you have a basic feel for the rules you can either find a local game or play-by-post game. The Gamers Seeking Gamers area can be a good start for this.

The Pathfinder Society discussed here is a form of organized play and as such there are a few more rules to guide character creation and such. You can learn about that in the guide linked to in the first post of this thread.

If Pathfinder Society play via play-by-post is what you are after, Mowgli has started a social group here that is early in forming for people looking to find PFS play-by-post games:

EN World D&D / RPG News - Pathfinder Society Play-by-Post

This is a lot of information at once for someone new to the game and organized play, so feel free to look over some of the links above and stop back by to ask questions. There are a lot of us here who will be happy to answer questions about getting started!
