Pathfinder 1E Scotley's and Leif's Constables of the 14th Ward - Main Action Thread [3.5E D&D] [IC 04]

Scotley

Hero
[sblock=Kerlan] Kerlan puts his impressive mind to work on the problem and begins to make some connections. Kerlan's knowledge of the Arcane tells him that this is no ordinary undead created by necromancy. Religious texts he has studied suggest that in cases where deaths are particularly violent or caused by particular malice or heartless action or inaction the Demon Prince Orcus is said to take an interest. Rather than passing on in the usual way, the unfortunate victim may instead rise as an undead born of particular evil and malice toward those who were responsible. It is said the Demon Prince delights in such revenge. While he can't say the exact nature of the undead in question he can draw some conclusions. It will be powerful and bent on destruction of some particular focus. While once a man or man-like being it is almost certainly transformed in some horrible way now. Perhaps with more clues he can further develop an image of the foe.[/sblock]

Scotley

Hero
Slogging home to the 14th proves unpleasant. There is a layer of slush on the streets and the temperature hovers around the freezing point. A mix of sleet, snow flurries and drizzle falls as you trudge through crowded streets as the work day ends for folk of ordinary trades. Constables' work is never down.

The temple in the Clayfields neighborhood is easy to find in the fading light. It is lit up with continual flame lanterns. In fact it appears a few more have been added since last you pasted this way.

As always one of the under priests stands before the temple greeting the good folk as they pass. He is warming his hands over a merry fire of charcoal and incense that burns in a brazier at his side. What is different is the mail he wears under his robes and the stout two-handed mace he carries. "Evening Constables, blessing be upon your good work this night."

Leif

Adventurer
As the Constables gather near the priest's fire under the scant shelter provided by the slight overhang of the temple's stone facade, you can see past the priest and into the outer area of the temple. A small but fairly steady stream of parishoners make their way through this room, many stopping to chat briefly before proceeding on into the main chapel down towards the nave. You can see a total of three other priests from this vantage, one greeting the arriving parishoners in the waiting area/cloakroom, and two flanking the doorway to the nave. All three of them are as heavily armed as the one who stands before you outside, the two flanking the door with morning stars, while the one in the waiting area/cloakroom bears a quite largish sword, setting him apart from the usual run of clergy and possibly marking him as a Paladin?

Helfdan

First Post
Alarion nods his head in greeting. "Good even, brother." He looks around taking notice of the many weapons in evidence. "I see you are expecting trouble. Perhaps we may be of help."

Rhun

First Post
Brae holds his gloved hands close to the fire, letting it warm him through the lined leather. He is quiet, awaiting a response to Alarion's question.
