The decent proves less difficult than the planning. While the hook facilitates lowering the force hemisphere, it doesn't prove to be a particularly comfortable vehicle. The bowl is backward with the hook being on top. Those who descend find a large chamber that appears to have once been a pocket of some sort of valuable ore. Braz suspects iron. Those descending purely by means of handholds find a 12' drop at the bottom. As Soulfetter enters the area he sees a figure sprawled on the ground just at the edge of his vision.

Tau tentatively walks over to examine the figure on the ground. He is wary of any possible threats, especially from the figure itself.

The body is quite dead. It appears to be a human, but there is a hing of fang and point to the ear as well as a slightly elongated face suggesting some Orc heritage.

The man obviously died of vicious wounds inflicted by large claws.

OOC: Seems more than likely that the Death Claw killed this man. Either the one upstairs or one of his dozen brothers lurking in the shadows nearby...

The dead man looks outfitted for adventuring with pouches and a pack. He's got a wicked looking short sword on the ground next to him and you can just see a wrist sheath with some sort of dagger up his left sleeve.

Tau looks at the body and it's wounds. Be stands up speaks as if thinking out loud, pointing a various times to emphasize his points. "He's definitely dead. From his features he appears to be of orcish blood. His wounds seem to indicate he lost a battle with the creature we defeated above. From his clothes and equipment I would say that he was an adventuring type rather than some kind of worker. I wonder if he has some kind of identification on him." Tau begins meticulously removing items from the body, including weapons, pouches, jewelry, etc. He lays them out on the ground around the body, leaving on the shirt, pants, and boots. He goes through the belongings in search if ID.

SoulFetter looks around, plainly unhappy to be underground again. With a vigorous shake, he brings himself out of his 'funk' and lends a hand to the others in the investigation.
