A cold wind swirls through Pulpit Aley now, and the chill of the creature bites that much more bitterly at the Constables. [2 hp of damage each] The wind stirs the rags that adorn the foul creature, and the limbs of the thing begin to move again on their own.

SoulFetter strides wearily over to the Bleakborn and slams his axe into the thing's head. "Not truly dead e'en yet, then. OK, I'm almost too tired to think right now, and not too good at it e'en when I'm at my best. Whatever we're to do, let's be about it."

[sblock=GMs]Ending Rage in 3.5 results in Fatigue "until the end of the encounter." This is fine, until a situation such as this. Is this encounter over now? Or will it last until the thing is well and truly in the ground and put to its final rest?

If it were me (and keeping in mind I'm biased) I'd call the encounter over, as the nature of the task has changed from putting it down to something more like keeping it prisoner. But it's surely your call, so just let me know :cool:[/sblock]

The bone-weary SoulFetter 'drops' his big axe on the skull of the re-awakening Beakborn and smashes it back to the earth of the alley. The breeze stops and the Constables begin to feel some respite from the chill of death.

OOC: In this case, a single round passed between the original 'defeat' of the bleakborn and SF's final drubbing of the creature. If the rage was ruled to still be in effect, that would mean wasting a round of rage (a limited and valuable commodity to a barbarian) during the idle round, which precedent I know you do not wish to establish. However, though fatigued due to the end of his rage, SF had the strength to hold his axe above the bleakborn and drop it.
