So. Our Heroes (whoever they might be) have just washed up on the sandy beach of a not-very-friendly island. (Let's call it 'Island X1'.) The ship is a total loss, although they do have one of the ship's boats, and some rope they had been using to lash barrels and the like to it. (Too bad they didn't have Use Rope, because the knots came loose and they lost the barrels.)
What interesting and helpful flotsam and jetsam could wash ashore? The ship was not carrying any cargo, so whatever it was would have to be part of the normal ship's stores - and of course it would have to float because otherwise it'd be sitting on the bottom of the ocean several miles out.
What I'd really like to get is stuff that's not immediately obvious as useful, but that clever adventurers could put to good use with a little thought. Sort of a 'MacGyver' scenario.
