    Thanks Frylock! I appreciate your praise and agree that it is never an easy task to blend the two. For the Blunderbuss, I had considered making it a little nastier, but being conservative is key when balancing all things. Interesting enough, the blunderbuss is an earlier version of the shotgun, making it ideal for suggestions such as yours. I'm sure I could write an entire booklet on neat powers like that, but you would have to prod Morrus for such commissions

    Rules Lawyer Pedant stuff:
    Maverick: You probably want to pull the "instead of melee weapons" clause, since rogues can SA w/ some bows, slings, and can not by default with clubs.

    Firearm Defense: you talk about wielding a firearm in your off-hand, but without the "off-hand" property, only rangers can do that. Give the pistols the "off-hand" property?

    Pistol-Dagger: Not clear what you mean, because of the ranged/melee split. "This weapon can also be used in melee as a light blade"?

    Deevo's pistol: I'd word the encounter power more along the lines of Gauntlets of Blinding Strikes's power. Otherwise it's not clear exactly what you mean by "fire both barrels"

    Other comments:
    Covering Shot: make the "no OAs" aspect an effect? Maybe drop the damage down to "Primary Ability"? That seems a better representation of forcing someone to keep their head down.

    Compare the Arquebus to the Blunderbuss? It seems like I'm giving up a die size for no advantage.

    Sometimes the fluff means all the world . I also had a word budget to stay within and expect some cool community creations can be brought to bear. The story may call for an arquebus where a blunderbuss just wouldn't make sense Thanks for the feedback!

    All your magic firearms say "enhancement: fortitude, reflex and will". I assume they're meant to say "attack and damage rolls"?

    The powers don't say how you acquire them. Presumably they're power swaps that get access to somehow? If that is the case, they seem fairly generic: It would be a rare character that wouldn't have something better that fills the exact same niche. So they really need either a wildly different niche, or more power.

    Outside of that, great article and I love the disclaimer!
