Underdark-Quest :The Vault of Larin Karr
Twelve miles down the narrower side passage, the Wizards have been steadily but slowly climbing for the last few miles. Up ahead you can just distinguish an area of deeper darkness on the right side of the tunnel, possibly indicating the presence of a side passage.

Underdark-Quest :The Vault of Larin Karr
The Secondary UnderDark passage that you are currently following continues on to the west past the side-passage to the north which is similar in size to the current passage. Kerlan thinks he hears a soft snore just a split-second before he peeks around the edge of the side-passage, but before he can form the thought adquately, he has peeked and disturbed the watchful guard. Apparently a band of Bugbears was sleeping here after setting a guard. The guard bellows extremely loudly and rushes to the attack. The others, all six of them, leap up immediately as well.
Let's have the first wizard to post roll a party initiative, please.
OOC: The Wizards were surprised. The Bugbears used their surprise round to rouse themselves, the lone exception being the Bugbear who was standing guard, who attacks Kerlan with his spear. Thankfully, he misses. There are a total of seven bugbears crowded into this tiny little cave.
[I went ahead and let them have totally random hp.
Sheesh, these guys have found a big cache of Wheaties somewhere!]
Bugbear AC: 16, FF: 15, T: 11 (These Bugbears have no shields)
