Tylara sees that there is a metal pull handle about 2 inches in diameter on the bottom of the copper basin. And she sees that the pull handle is attached to a 4-inch diameter circular plug. she further sees [man, that was an awesome roll] that there is a small notch in the edge of the plug. The notch is currently in the 12 o'clock position.

[sblock=Ennie!]I was reading a back issue of Dragon last night and learned that this module, The Vault of Larin Karr, won the Silver Ennie in 2003 for Best Adventure. The Banewarrens from Malhavoc Press won the Gold.[/sblock]

Tylara reveals what her keen elven eyes have decerned. "Larin seems to have liked a bit of intricacy in his tricks and traps. If we choose to disturb that plug or whatever it is we best be prepared for the worst. Any thoughts on what we might be dealing with or what the green liquid might be."

Cappi steps forward and pours over every detail of the basin of green fluid.

[take a 20] 30 minutes later....

OOC: if it were me, you would need to turn the plug clockwise or counter whumpis. one is for well, the other woe.

Capizzio decides that the device must be operated by turning the plug and then removing it when the carved notch is in one of various positions. He suspects that removing the plug in a certain position will allow the water to drain from the basin, while removing it when it is turned to a different position may allow it to be removed without draining the water. However, Capizzio cannot tell what effect the water draining from the basin may have. The shape of the plug also nags at Capizzzio's brain! Where has he seen that before recently??
