[Adventure] Serpent's Skull: Souls for Smuggler's Shiv (DM: Mewness; Judge: THB)

Mewness

First Post
The group heads off toward the shipwreck, Imidoto still clinging stubbornly to Noriaki's shoulder.

The wreck itself is stuck against the rocks, and there is no way to get to it but to climb down the cliff.

GM: I'll need an Athletics check from everybody, DC 17. Failure costs a surge (but you still get down).

Takahaan takes point and makes his slow way down the rocks, finding some footholds for his friends behind him. As he approaches the beached ship, he realizes that it is not the Nightvoice, but still could have something of interest. "Kane, you ready to look for lost treasure?" he questions, chuckling at his new friend's quirky interest for looting.

OOC: How wrecked is the ship? Is there a gaping hole able to be walked into like last time, or should we attempt to climb up the side of it? (Assuming its still upright and not on its side.)

GM: It's a pretty old wreck--you're not certain whether what remains of the structure is still sound--but it's more or less intact and upright, with a gaping hole in the side that you can climb into.

While climbing down the cliff, Castile loses her footing at one point and begins to stumble. Luckily, she is close enough to Ishirou that can grasp up at his waist for support. She looks up to him, still clinging.

[sblock=ooc]Athletics 19. (1d20+8=19)

The north half of the island looks fairly well explored now. If we're going to move camps, I think it should be further south, such as I1.

The rain has been very predictable, hasn't it? Unless we have a drought, I think it's okay to camp away from a water source.[/sblock]

Kane grins at Takahaan's comment. "Always"

He begins climbing down the cliff. He loses his grip halfway down and sips a good distance, grazing himself quite badly.

Noriaki brushes at his shoulder for a moment before attempting the climb, and Imidoto flies a short bit, chirping at him in annoyance. She circles low overhead as the group climbs down, annoyance forgotten as she watches and tries to figure out what everyone is doing. Noriaki makes the climb fine, and she settles on his shoulder again at the bottom.

The last of his allies making it down the slope, Takahaan leads their way into the massive hole in the side of the ship, Ishirou at his side.

"Careful, now, this ship looks pretty ancient and we don't know how safe it is. The last thing we need is to get seriously injured."

Kane, trying to act like his slide down the cliff didn't hurt, walks somewhat disjointedly a smile thinly masking a grimace of pain as he draws his blade and casts light upon it as the head into the inside of the wreck.

Once inside he begins to look around for any signs of recent activity.

Ishirou climbs down after the others.

As you climb down, you can see that one of the masts broke during the wreck, and fell in such a way as to be wedged tightly in the rocks. It looks to have blocked off the hatches leading belowdecks, which may have cause anyone unlucky enough to have been below at the time to be trapped.

You enter through the gash in the side to the middle deck of the ship. The interior is dim and damp. Skeletal remains of sailors are mingled together, making it impossible to tell which bones belong with which. A powerful sense of unease pervades the entire place.

GM: Place yourselves anywhere on the map, save in blank space, and tell me what you're doing. Everything pretty much counts as difficult terrain. You can be in the same square as a mast, but you have to squeeze.
