OOC: Draglin can move again, we aren't in rounds so I was letting everyone explore by movement. Keep posting one round of actions at a time (Standard, Move, Minor) but you don't have to wait for everyone to go.

Draglin triggers a trap, but not an initiative based one. He is hit for 5 damage. Depending how Draglin moves he may be attacked again.

Note, the trap is not located on the X (but that notes the AoE) a burst 2 centered on the X. If you get a Perception 24 roll, you can look at the Spear Trap spoiler.

Map updated

As Draglin rushes over to the table, his leg encounters a thin wire strung between it and the far table. Two spears thrust out, one from each side, only the one near to Draglin comes towards him. The blade strikes him in the leg, though he turns to make the blow only glancing. Both spears swing back under the tables after the assault.

[sblock=Spear Trap] Level 5 Obstacle (XP 200)
Trap: Two tables contain spears that thrust out when the tripwire is touched.
Perception: DC 24 to notice the apparatus under the tables
Target: All creatures within 2 squares of the area between the tables (limit 2 targets)
Attack: +10 vs AC
Hit: 1d8+4 damage
Countermeasures: A character adjacent to a table can disarm one spear with a DC 25 Thievery check. A DC 20 Dungeoneering check grants the party a +2 bonus to Thievery checks to delay or disable the trap. A character can ready an action to attack the spears (each has AC 13, other defenses 10; hp 10). A character can attack a table (AC 12, other defenses 10; hp 30; resist 5 all). Destroying the table renders one spear useless.

Auntie Mab spots something under the table near Jonathan and moves over to investigate.

Perception (1d20+11=24)

"What do we have here?," she ponders. "Careful dearies!," she cautions, seeing Draglin fall afoul of a hidden spear. "Greebles are tricksy beasts. Never know when one of their nefarious traps will ensnare you, leaving you helpless until the fiends return to give you a thorough tongue-lashing. Better let Auntie use her mystical powers to check it out," she says inspecting the object under the table for a way to disarm the trap mechanism.

Thievery w/ bonuses from Prison of Salzacas and Demon Hunter's Boon (1d20+16+2+1=25)

Auntie Mab holds our her hands in a mystic manner, then slips something under the table. SNAP the spear and some wood and rope fall below the table to the ground.

In the opposite corner is an open jail cell. In the far back, glinting in the light of the sunrod is a golden object on a small pile of smashed furniture.

[sblock=pacdidj]Success, one of the spear's is disabled. The other spear won't move again either as the tripwire is now disabled. You can disarm the other side with a similar roll or leave it ready to spring but it won't trigger unless tampered with.[/sblock]

Jonathan sees that this must have been a holding cell for many waiting on justice or something...

[sblock=Dante or Perception 24] The door of the cell looks well oiled and ready for use. It has a block of wood holding it open at the moment[/sblock]

OOC: I am assuming now that everyone has weapons in hand, unless they have to perform another type of action (such as carrying an item)

"Don't muck about with that other table dearies, or you'll get stuck just like poor Draglin," Auntie Mab warns the group. "The trip wire's disabled, but the trap could still trigger if it's tampered with."

Crossing the room to stand behind Jonathan, she asks, "What is that in there, Jonathan dearie? Can you see?," squinting through the flickering shadows at the golden object she can't quite make out.

"Holding cell. Looks recently used. See here?" Jonathan points out how well oiled the door is (Perception 27). He also points out a small block of wood holding the door open. "Best not disturb the wood, lest we get caught inside."

"Ooh, right you are. Good eye dearie!," Auntie Mab says, giving Jonathan a congratulatory pat on the back.

OOC: [MENTION=73730]johnmeier1[/MENTION] - Is a skill check necessary to avoid disturbing the block now that Jonathan has pointed it out?

"Ooh, right you are. Good eye dearie!," Auntie Mab says, giving Jonathan a congratulatory pat on the back.

Jonathan raises his eyebrow at the pat on the back, but quickly lowers it.

"I know nothing of traps, but I can hold the door open. Anyone care to check that out?" Jonathan asks, pointing at the golden object in the cell.

[sblock=Thievery 20] The door is rigged to slam shut and lock those who go inside. You can use Thievery (DC 25) to either disable it from closing or unlock it after it closes.[/sblock]

Jonathan points out the intricacies to Mab and sees that the far object is a small pile of gold pieces.
