Description
Brisarion is a handsome, athletic man. Even were it not for his armor and blade, it is obvious from the way he moves and the scars he bears that he is trained combatant. He wears his wavy blonde hair almost to shoulder length, and he has piercing emerald-hued eyes. While he has several scars upon his face, these do not detract much from his handsome features, and indeed add character.

Background
[sblock]One of the many descendants of Vlek, the man who was named Rathes knew from an early age that only the strong survive. His fathers were the men in his warband, his teachers were pain and cruelty. Hard taskmasters, but he learned that winning was the same as survival, and second place was a shallow grave.

Rathes survived, and in his victories he learned that there were places beyond Stonehold were life was not treated with contempt. As the warbands raided and burned Rathes saw that the people they killed had a life different than the one he knew, that the people that fought vainly against them had something worth protecting. He saw his own people and how they lived and knew he wanted something different.

Escaping the warbands seemed impossible. Even if he were to flee, where would he go? The only places he knew were the victims of hid bands attack. They would slay him on sight. The only escape would be to raid deep, far away from Stonehold, some place that he could get lost and the people would not recognize him. Only chieftains can decide where a warband goes though, and so Rathes entered the Rite of Battle Fitness, and he survived. Taking his place at the head of his warband he lead them farther away from Stonehold with each raid, waiting for the day when they would face a foe too strong.

He did not have to wait long. The Knights of the Shield sought to stop his warband and they trapped them. A force of cavalry rode down and demolished his warband. In the confusion of the melee Rathes slipped away, leaving his raiders to die while he finally escaped.

In the port of Amundfort he bought passage on a Rhennee barge. In the weeks upon the voyage, the old Rathes was finally laid to rest, the waters a silent grave for the chieftain of raiders. The man who stepped foot on the other shore was someone else; a new birth, and a second chance.[/sblock]
