The pariy's counter attack is brutal as they kill one of the guards and brutally attack the other with weapons and spells. Zharne moves foward and sends a swarm of locust at the remaining guard, who roars in pain. The guard, seeing that he's outnumbered, swings at Prime in desparation. His actions pay off as the guard manages to find an opening in the warforged's defenses for a minor wound. Meanwhile, all hell breaks loose within the cave. The goblins let go of the chains of beast they were holding in the cave . A huge roar erupts from the cave as a large humanoid rushes forward out of the cave, not before picking up one of the goblins by the throat and smashing him against the cave wall, killing him instantly. The ogre sees the battle taking place at the entrance of the cave. Picking his club up over his head, the ogre charges Prime, smashing his weapon down on the construct, sending pieces of metal from the construct's shoulder flying in all directions.

OOC: RP'd Zharne: Locust swarm: 1d20+9 for 1d8+8 damage = hit for 15 and G2 grants CA to all allies until end of Zharne's next turn.

The hobgoblin sees an opening in Prime's defenses and jumps into the action only to crash against Prime's shield, raised in a fraction of a second, which shatter's the goblinoid's nose. Half blinded by pain and locusts he's unable to avoid the automaton's hammer, which strikes true again. The momentum carries Prime north, seemingly unfaced by the powerful blow he's just received, and strikes the ogre with a glancing blow.

Hobgoblin's turn: Use Shield Edge Block encounter power. It lower's the hobgoblin's attack by 4, which makes his attack 24, 1 point lower than Prime's AC for this round so it fails. The attack connects for 14 damage.
Standard action: Hack and Hew encounter power, attacking the hobgoblin and ogre (both attack with CA since they are in the locust swarm's effect). Hits and Marks both, hobgolin for 16 more and Ogre for just 8. Since it's an Invigorating power and Prime is trained in Endurance, he gains 4 temporary hit points.
Move action: Shift 1 square, gaining +1 to AC and Reflex (boots of the fencing master)

Notice that Prime has damage reduction 1, so the ogre dealt 1 point of damage less. Currently he's at 34 HP[/sblock]

  • Prime has damage reduction 1 against all damage
  • When an enemy marked by Prime makes an attack that doesn’t include him, he can make an Immediate Interrupt to make a Melee Basic Attack against him. If the attack connects, he can push the target up to 3 squares; since interrupts happen before the action that provoked them, pushing an enemy that attacks an ally beyond reach can potentially negate the attack altogether. Notice also that this attack isn’t an opportunity attack
  • Prime has a +2 bonus to hit with Opportunity attacks and if they hit they stop enemies if a move provoked the attack. They can resume moving using other actions.
Trigguers:
Shield Edge Block when the -4 to the enemy’s roll can negate the attack

Drew uses dragon as a springboard, launching himself high in the air. He comes down, legs rigid, slaming first into ogre shoulder then landing on hobgoblins guard, pushing them toward earth. At the last moment, his knees flex and he lands in a roll, sliding under the guards legs and pulling him after.

Vermitrax grins as the ogre appears in the scene. He slams the tip of his staff with the ground. His eyes glow in white silvery light as he says demanding "You will obey my command, brute, and will smash the foolish goblin next to you." The ogre's eyes glow with the same faint silver color, his mind dominated by the arcane powered words. Like a mindless thrall, and with no emotion whatsoever, the ogre lifts the club, and smashes the goblin guard in the head, sinking it inside the guards' chest. The corpse falls lifeless, after convulsing for a while. The mage laughs under his breath, delighted on the gory scene, and for depriving someone of it's free will.

Using Hypnotism on Ogre: Hits will, Ogre attacks Goblin guard: Kills him with his club. Vermitrax uses his minor action to laugh.

Seeing the ogre momentarily stupider, Prime uses the opportunity to strike again. However, under Vermitrax's spell the brute is it's too dumb to even notice the hammer.

OOC: Using combat challenge since the ogre didn't attack Prime, fails to hit. Notice that he's still Marked but Prime can't use combat challenge again until his next turn

Gellan steps quickly to one side of the huge beast, roaring as he aims a heavy two-handed slash at its thick hide. The tattoo on his face glows a deep green as the scream of a panther echoes in the air after his cry.

OOC: Note:Zhane has 5 THP from Virtue of Valor the round before last, also I am granting Prime 5 THP last round from virtue of valor, which means he has 5 more HP from the Ogre attack. Also using Shield of Devotion on Prime when the Ogre hit to heal 5 HP and Sharpe gets +2 to attack against the Ogre EONT.

So basically:
Zhane has 5 THP
Prime has 10 more HP.

Sorry if I am making things confusing.


As the Ogre hits Prime a dark portal opens up near the Warforged. A strange fish faced creature pokes its head out and looks around. Upon seeing Prime it chucks a healing potion at him, which smashes on his metal plating. It then hops back through the portal, which closes.

Thanks Marsh! Say Hi to the missis for me! Sharpe says waving. Allright Ogre, we have to kill you before your pet comes, no hard feelings OK? See you in the abyss! he says, shooting a bolt of lightning at the Ogre. Prime's metal sword arm is drawn to it, slicing into the foe.
