Apologies for the delay in this general RPG news roundup; it's been a heck of a week, and so some of this news may be a week or two old.
  • :minis: WotC has released the Dragon Collector's Set, a limited edition boxed set which contains five of D&D's most iconic dragons. Each box contains five non-random, pre-painted, durable plastic miniatures for use in the Dungeons & Dragons Roleplaying Game, and has a suggested retail price of $44.99.
  • :pf: Pathfinder fans can buy 101 new feats for 14 classes; there's a free preview, too (one feat for each class).
  • :4e: What's waiting to ambush your paragons from the spaces in between? The Slender Man stalks for unsuspecting victims. A free 4E monster on Kobold Quarterly.
  • :rav: The Midway Haven Observatory is proud to present the inaugural edition of the Book of Storms, which could now be downloaded at their website. The inaugural edition features seven articles for the classic Ravenloft and Masque of the Red Death campaign settings.
  • :books: Darrin Drader, who has contributed to many products from various publishers including WotC, Paizo, even EN Publishing, has been working on a novel called Echoes of Olympus, which he describes as "Clash of the Titans meets HBO's Rome by way of H.P. Lovecraft". The full book isn't yet available, but you can read the first 70 pages.
  • :rpg: Infinite X Studio has posted a video blog explaining many of the underlying systems in the upcoming Quantum RPG (a Kickstarter project which seems to be doing remarkably well!) The video is quite long (just over 14 minutes). The Quantum Roleplaying Game is about an innovative, highly-technological society in Earth's distant future that built a robotic world and rocketed it out to the edge of the universe, hurtling into the very fabric of space-time in order to discover new sources of untapped power to expand their knowledge of the universe itself.
  • :4e: Check out the latest Foursaken Feature, which provides a number of fun and flavorful magic items that can brighten up a 4e campaign even when it's not time for combat. Included are the merchant pouch, the scales of fair exchange, the chest of useful things, scrying paints, and lovers' journals.
  • :pf: Pathways #9, the free Pathfinder e-zine, is now avaiable and includes a collection of Pathfinder templates, encounters, feats and domains, and all of it bundled together with a new haiku fiction piece by author Matt Banach
  • :3e: Joshua Zaback discusses darkness as a plot hook, presenting an adventure idea based on a town threatened by creatures in the shadows, that must constantly struggle to keep the lights on, or else risk oblivion; and Alex Riggs discusses the mechanics of darkness in 3.5/Pathfinder, and the ways that it can contribute, or detract from, gameplay.
