The first there books all have notes tucked into them indicating that they should be delivered to one Montagnie Crowl, a professor of antiquities at
Lepidstadt University.
The first is On Verified Madness. This jet-black book is a treatise on aberrations and other entities found on Golarion that possess remote ties to the Dark Tapestry, the name given to the dark places between the stars in the night sky.
Next down in the stack is Serving Your Hunger. This text is a copy of one of several unholy books sacred to the goddess Urgathoa. Lorrimor’s notations liberally sprinkle the margins. The cover is decorated with a stylized fly in the pattern of a skull.

Sometimes those wishing to become undead and those who live gluttonous lifestyles make supplication to her. On occasion, folk infected with plagues make offerings to Urgathoa. Among her enemies are Sarenrae and Pharasma, as well as their respective followers. Urgathoa is generally depicted as an attractive, pale-skinned, and ebony-haired woman. Unlike most other beauties, at her waist, her flesh begins to rot and wither away, leaving her as little more than a blood-soaked skeleton from the hips down. Urgathoa's minions include powerful vampires, liches, and other authoritative undead.[/sblock]
Third down is The Umbral Leaves. This lexicon is a translation into Common of the unholy book of Zon-Kuthon. It looks like the Professor had only just begun to look at this one as their are only a couple of cursory notes near the beginning. It is a plain unadorned book seeming to have been translated for study by scholars rather than for the edification of worshipers.

His position as god of pain is well earned, and he has been the root of countless tortures, murders and worse throughout time. Zon-Kuthon has little concern for the dealing of other deities. As long as he can play with his many toys, The Dark Prince has no need for any alliances, wars, or diplomatic dealings. While often the target of vengeance from Golarion's good deities, Zon-Kuthon himself does little to instigate conflict. However, he is not above torturing followers of other faiths, and does so whenever possible. The only one safe from his evil ways is his sister Shelyn, though he grants no such immunity to her faithful.[/sblock]
The fourth, Manual of the Order of the Palatine Eye, has a note indicating it should be delivered to Embreth Daramid, a judge at the Lepidstadt Courthouse; although, the note asks for this delivery in particular to be handled discreetly, and includes the address of Embreth’s home so that it can be delivered there. You know the title only from the note for there are no words on the outside of the book. The rich purple cover contains a brass scarab set with a single eye in its center. The book’s covers are rimmed in polished steel and clasped with a small but intricate lock, the keyhole of which appears to be for a key with a strange, triangular shaft. The key is nowhere to be found. The lock appears to be a good one and could be picked only with considerable skill.

Brendan will get up from his seat to also exam the books as he is a lover of books. He will briefly look at each book and scan a few pages leaving the purple one alone and will then return to his seat and pour himself another cup of tea.
