Besharrn is very self-conscious around the crowd (would-be lynch mob) because of his orcish blood and appearance. Therefore, his inclination is to keep an exceedingly low profile and blend into the crowd as much as possible. In this present situation, Brendan is making Besharrn very nervous, so he will stamd behind B'rii and voice assent to his words, "Dass Roit, Respeck! Speak word, Sheriff, we hep you keep peas."

Vadim recounts the following information about Harrowstone with a little help on the details provided by Kendra.

Harrowstone is a ruined prison—partially destroyed by a fire in 4661, the building hasstood vacant ever since. The locals suspect that it’shaunted, and don’t enjoy speaking of the place.

Harrowstone was built in 4594. Ravengro was founded at the same time as a place where guards and their families could live and that would produce food and other supplies used by the prison. The fire that killed all of the prisoners and most of the guards destroyed a large portion of the prison’s underground eastern wing, but left most of the stone structure above relatively intact.

The prison’s warden perished in the fire, along with his wife, although no one knows why she was in the prison when the fire occurred. A statue commemorating the warden and the guards who lost their lives was built in the months after the tragedy—that statue still stands on the riverbank just outside of town.

As for the Whispering Way, he can add nothing to what they learned from the Professor's Journal.

OOC: I'll wait for Falco's rolls before addressing the research.

Falco's rolls to see what he does or doesn't know: (One of the first times the rolls are right where they should be)

Kendra has some knowledge of the organization of her father's books and she helps guide you to some sources. Despite having some good materials you find little about the Whispering Way. The Whispering Way is a sinister organization of necromancers that has been active in the
Inner Sea region for thousands of years.

You do gain more insight into Harrowstone at least. Most of the hardened criminals sent to Harrowstone spent only a few months imprisoned, for it was here that most of Ustalav’s executions during that era were carried out. The fire that caused the tragedy was, in fact, a blessing in disguise, for the prisoners had rioted and gained control of the prison’s dungeons immediately prior to the conf lagration. It was only through the self sacrifice of Warden Hawkran and 23 of his guards that the prisoners were prevented from escaping—the guards gave their lives to save the town of Ravengro.

Besharrn's Aid Another Diplomacy check: 19! Oddly enough, the half-orc does prove useful in a diplomatic effort! Quick, someone alert the media!

"Interesting...I can definitely see why some say that place is haunted. I wonder what really happened...You know, Vadim, we could give a go at contacting the warden with that spirit board...",
Falco says half joking, half serious. Trying to gauge Vadim's reaction

Maidhc O Casain

Na Bith Mo Riocht Tá!
Vadim appears somewhat startled at Falco's suggestion, then thoughtful. "It might be worthwhile to try using the Planchette, as there are bound to be spirits aplenty around this place. But I don't think it works to contact a specific being - it's more a general call to any local presences."
