    Due to my data loss and reconstruction, the map had to undergo a minor coordinate change. I tried to stay true to each of your suggestions, but please note the differences

    Just so you know, this WILL NOT last long, so don't be disappointed if the ending is less climactic than you had hoped for. I'm only putting this in a new thread so that the tavern thread doesn't get filled with the mechanics of combat.



    @dimsdale : I'll need you to get your CS up as soon as possible. If you can't do it by the next post, at least provide your max HP and your max HS.

    Let me know if anyone else has decided to join.

    Phoenix is first up, then Rhagast.

    The area around Rhagast literally detonates with flame. When it clears, the minotaur smokes and smolders, while a phoenix the size of a raven blazes by his head and a wolf of pure fire pours forth hellfire.

    Phoenix's eyes blaze with a snarl on her face that falters slightly when she sees how little her assault slowed the minotaur down...

    OOC: Turn Summary: Rhagast takes 51 fire damage on his turn and 23 more at the start of his next turn.
    There's a Flaming Sphere in J13 1 square up, a Hell Hound in K11 (they occupy their squares).
    Phoenix is didn't move and is at 48/53hp. She has resist 10 fire and cold and any creature that attacks her takes 1d6+15 fire damage, 3d6+24 if it's a melee attack. She has Shield and Infernal Wrath readied.


    Actions
    Minor: Fire Shield: Phoenix gains 10 Fire and Cold resist. Any creature that attacks Phoenix with a melee attack takes 2d6+9 fire damage
    Move->Minor: Summon Hell Hound(range 10) in K11. Creatures starting next to it take 5 fire damage, Phoenix's area/burst attacks do +1d6 damage, and any creature that attacks Phoenix takes 1d6+15 fire damage. It makes an instinctive close blast 3 attack against as many creatures as possible if Phoenix doesn't give it any commands or moves towards the nearest enemy if that's not possible and Phoenix takes 5 fire damage.
    Standard: Flaming Sphere in J13 1 square off the ground. Any creature starting it's turn adjacent to it takes 1d4+15 fire damage. Attack: 1d20+15=28 vs Rhagast's 26 Reflex, hit, 2d6+15=23 fire damage.
    AP Standard: Fire Burst(area burst 2 in 10) centered on J15. 1d20+15=32 vs Rhagast's 26 Reflex, hit, 3d6+1d6(Hell Hound)+15=28 fire damage.

    WHOA! shouts Gil, regretting his decision to move closer to the door for a better look at this pirate fellow. After the fiery display, the wizard decides caution the better part of valor, and begins to move away from the rampaging minotaur and the explosions around him.

    A fat, stub-winged insect of some sort flies lazily off of the Hanged Man's midden heap and lands on a nearby wall. It turns a many-faceted eye toward the fireworks.

    OOC: I haven't been following the tavern, so I have no idea what's going on, but I can watch I suppose.

    Rhagast bats at the flames as they lick at his soiled garments, but though they are enough to incinerate a normal man, they merely annoy the minotaur.

    Ignoring Phoenix's attack, the brute charges straight for Brastrix, "Yar a prize now arent ye matey! Seems tah me it'd be bettar if'n thar were two o' ye... or a'least two pieces!"

    The hellhound and Gill suddenly learn that it is not wise to stand in the path of a charging minotaur. The pirate knocks them aside as he crosses the common room in three strides, bringing his axe to bare in a flash.

    Brastrix, however, is too quick for the oaf. The blade comes crashing down on the bar leaving a gash that splits the counter clear to the floorboards.

    Blagarm's face goes white as a sheet, and he ducks for cover behind a more substantial section of the bar as quickly as he can.
    GM: For those of you who aren't familiar with my style, please be sure to read all the spoilers below. I tuck them away so that the post doesn't get huge (not so that you can ignore them).

    Terrain!
    Furniture is difficult terrain and small furniture can be used as an improvised weapon. Tables offer cover against creatures on the opposite side.

    Tables can be flipped with a DC 12 Strength check as a minor action. Flipped tables offer superior cover and total concealement to prone creatures against creatures on the opposite side.

    Any single square of furniture has 20 structural hitpoints. Destroyed furniture is no longer difficult terrain.

    The bar can be hurdled with a DC 15 athletics check. Even then, it costs 2 squares of movement to traverse the bar.

    The bar offers cover to standing creatures and superior cover / total concealment to prone creatures against creatures on the opposite side.

    Gil! Lerrick screams, then moves quickly, skirting around a table, then moving towards the spellcaster. She stops behind another table, which is positioned between herself and the thug. She then focusses her attention on Gil, mumbling something under her breath as her eyes glow bright silver. Healing warmth spreads through Gil's body as a result of her actions.

    Phoenix snarls and the flaming shroud about her blasts away like a nova though somehow leaving Brastrix unhurt. While Grum catches fire, the other two are unhurt. As she summons her tiny phoenix back she pulls forth another hellish beast of raw, jagged lava that lashes out at Rhagast ineffectually.

    Fortunately, the Hell Hound is a little more effective.

    OOC: Turn Summary: Grum takes 20 fire damage and 5 ongoing fire damage(save ends).
    Rhagast takes 29 fire damage and 17 more at the start of his next turn.
    There's a Flaming Sphere in J7 2 squares up, a Hell Hound in K11 prone, and a Magma Beast in G8(they occupy their squares).

    Graven backs away to the rear wall of the tavern and launches a magic missile at Rhagast, though the minotaur appears to notice it about as much as one normally does a mosquito bite.
