Just a quick thing regarding the map. I think Cam should be quite a bit closer to the same Orc that Shiyana is by since I had said that Cam was charging that Orc immediately after throwing his axe, or if you are sticking to the Movement, Magic, Missile, HTH order then he would have moved, then thrown his axe.

Got books? It's not like 3.5 or 4E where you have to read for two evenings straight to figure out what's going on. You can read pretty much everything on a given topic in the AD&D PH in 15 minutes or less.

Yeah, it only gets fiddly when you need to do stuff like look up item saving throws or other very situation specific rules since they are scattered kinda randomly throughout the books.
