The adventurers rise early, feeling very much rested and ready to tackle the challenges before them. After a good beakfast, they break camp and head back to the cave.

When our heroes appoach the cave again, they notice the thin wisps of smoke drifting up from several holes, what seems to be a natural sort of chimney, in the top of the cave. There are three guards visible, stationed on top of the cave in some kind of hastily constructed fortification of stone and wood. [They currently have 60% cover, and it stands to reason that this could be easily increased with a moment's movement, or 'hunkering' if you prefer.] It would stand to reason that there are still orcs stationed below in the cave itself, as well. None are yet visible down below from your present vantage point.

[The Heroes are all at full HP and capabilities, if anyone has forgotten to rejuvenate a PC.]

OOC to DM: Is there vegetation on the ground around/on top of the cave where the fortification is?

OOC to group: Shiyana is thinking maybe she could cast Entangle on the little "fortification" area to keep the orcs busy while we dash into the cave and carry on. At the very least, it might obscure their vision since, Shiyana is assuming, they probably have bows of some sort up there.That work for everyone or other ideas?

The top of the cave hill thingy is pretty rocky, but Shiyana reckons that there may be enough vinage and wiry trees to nab the lookouts there.

Turthain readies his bow as he surveys the enemy. "Perhaps I can fire some arrows from cover at the orcs while Cam sneaks around behind them?"

OOC: Sneaking up 'behind' the two watchful orcs may be difficult. They seem to have this lookout thing down pretty well -- all three of them are watching in differemt directions and they shift their attention every few seconds.

While Turthain and the others are considering, one of the orcs sees the adventurers and raises the alarm: "Look! An Elf and Humans! Dibs on pointy ears!" As he says thus, he is preparing his bow to fire a jagged, wicked-looking orc arrow, and the others follow suit.
