This is a thread I'd like to have, because I really like using old NPCs, and I like to have new NPCs have some sort of connection to what's already established in the world.

I'd like to start with Varga Renlow. Varga is intended to be the sister of Phineas Renlow, but I wanted to make sure that her backstory didn't contradict any of his. Like, somewhere buried in his dialogue, he never said anything about being an only child, right? So if there's anything I need to know or done wrong, jkason , please let me know.

Additionally, Varga and Phineas's grandfather is going to make an appearance soon, so I doubly wanted to get my story straight.

I think it's a great idea building upon NPCs that have come before. Theoretically, vital information should be listed in the NPCs wiki page and it shouldn't be a problem expanding upon it. In practice, not everything is getting added to the wiki (I still have several NPCs to add, myself) so I think this thread is a good idea.

I was in the adventure that featured Phineas Renlow and I don't recall any mention of any lack of siblings. I'm not the creator of NPC, though.

Design discussion here in the forum is nice, but I would like all the results kept on the wiki because it is easier to link, cross reference and update. It is also easier to search there than in the forum.

I have several that I need to put up in the wiki as well, but my job queue always seems a little longer than my time availability.

I just saw yesterday that you had expanded on the lanky dwarven clan, and wanted to XP you for it, actually, but hadn't spread the wealth properly, it seems. :)

If I ever said Phineas was an only child, it was a mistake. He was always intended to have been from a large family, so I generally assumed lots of siblings, cousins, and other extended family. They were mostly miners (i.e. more "traditional" dwarves), but that's all the further I defined them. I made sure Phineas' wiki entry locked down the source of his nereid immunity, but as I think I mentioned before, I like to try to keep things as loosely-defined as possible to allow for just what you're doing.

Amusingly enough, I think Phineas was one of the only friendly NPC's in that adventure who didn't have a relative in Venza (and thus the secret origin of the adventure's title is revealed), so I get a kick out of finding out he now does. All roads lead to the City of Glass. :)

So, thumbs up from me on the expanded Renlow line. Looking forward to seeing what Grandfather's like.

GlassEye Just noted that Fury said he had an opinion of Enza Furros. Is that just Planks background fluff, or did Fury actually interact with him in an adventure sometime? When I used him in Escort Service, I couldn't find any time that he'd actually appeared before, despite being a character on the wiki.

Fury has never encountered Enza Furros and that comment by Fury is technically unsupported by well, anything at all. So I guess it's just Planks background fluff. Adding a Knowledge (Local) check (1d20+12=15) doesn't give Fury anything more than basic information so I'd chalk it up to a general Planks attitude of distrust for anyone more successful than himself.

I noticed that one of the new additions was 'Lord Maskon.' I don't know how other people feel about it, but I've been trying to avoid using Lord, Dame, Signor, etc. because I feel like we'll end up with 20 entries under those titles.
