Gray sees his friends in pain a moment before the psychic assault hits him, too. Though it wanes quickly, it's not before Fiddlesticks, Soryth, and Juliana disappear from view. Gray spots the three strange creatures described by the group when they first walked into the crystal cavern. For a moment, the Hengeyokai could swear that he saw his old mentor standing a dozen feet away from him. A feeling of longing and pain hit him harder than a maul to the chest and he felt himself stepping toward the figment of the Dwarf.

"Master? Is it really you?"

Gray reached out to touch his friend, and the illusion dissipated into mist, leaving Gray alone. Feeling depressed, Gray steps away from the mist before realizing that he had been tricked by an evil spell! That really got his blood boiling! Reaching into his belt he pulls out a star-shaped disk of sharpened metal. He sees a flurry of ranged attacks nail the blue creature north of them, but doesn't see the creature fall. It couldn't be allowed to live!

"I will find you Soryth! I will find you and I will kill you for playing with our minds and feelings like that! Watch as we kill your minions, and then feel fear as we come for you!"

Gray grips the edge of his shuriken and holds it above his head, arm cocked back. Throwing his arm and weight forward he lets the metal disk fly. It sails through the air and takes the best by surprise as a seemingly wild throw cuts from north west to north east, piercing the creature's neck, severing a major artery. The blue beast collapses, spilling its life upon the ground.

Seeing the creature fall, Gray's fury is abated, and he is once again able to calm his mind and focus. Free from the magic induced depression, Gray felt his whole body loosen and relax. He was ready for them now!

OOC: It just seems to be my luck. When I finally had a moment to check the site this weekened, it was down.

With the blue skinned creatures out of reach, Wat turns his attention to Sabynha who is still unable to move her legs.

"Hold on Sabynha, let me help."

At first he tries to think of a counter-spell, but then realizes his knowledge of magic is less than complete.

So he settles on massaging her legs trying to see if he can stimulate enough sensation for them to convince her mind of their ability to move.

Sure enough, his hands do the trick. Sabynha is able to lift her legs from the spot.

That is about the time that Wat realizes how... inappropriate his actions may look. But he couldn't help but notice the lean muscles that twinged under his hands. Then, he starts to wonder if his hands and stayed longer than absolutely necessary. His face turned red and he jumped back, nearly tripping over his feet in his sudden embarrassment. But at least he was able to convince himself that his own legs could move.

One of the xivorts slumps to the ground, various thrown weapons sticking out of its body. The others charge across the clearing towards the group.

As Wat limbers up Sabynha a large hand reaches out of thin air and grabs him by the throat. It claps down on the invoker weakening him at the knees and cutting off his air circulation, making breathing the main focus of his concentration.

Moments later their is a woosh of air at Gray's side and the leering face of Fiddlesticks appears at his side. Gray strikes out with his fists. The strike is more than instinctive. It is a compulsion of his will and causes the strangest of sensations, warping his reality. "Missed me! Should have kissed me instead Dead Head!" The poorly rhymed insults do not help the suddenly head splitting migraine that threatens to tear Gray's mind apart.

When one of the xivorts reach Gray, too late he realises that the leprechaun is actually behind him and not beside him at all. The blue skinned twisted excuse for an orange eyed gnome slashes at the monk's gut with its blade, drawing a line of blood.

Th other xivort reaches Sabynha with a slashing attack while her legs still tingle with pins and needles from Soryth's spell driving its blade into her thigh.

Another xivort arrives rushing from the edge of the clearing, drawing its blade and screeching: "FOr Queen Soryth!"

Sabynha cried out in pain as the xivort blade cut her leg; she definitely preferred Wat's caresses to the sting of sharp steel. Things were certainly becoming increasingly dire. "My friends, be on your guard! Watch for their feet in the grass! Gray! Behind you!"

The vistani hoped that her warning would suffice. Now that her legs were free from the spell, she began to dance in her more traditional athletic style, beginning with a wide arcing flourish of her blade. It was enough to keep the creature at bay long enough for her to try and help Wat; she tried to forcibly remove the hand that had appeared and was choking him.

It was too strong, however, her attempt was fruitless. "Wat! Hang on, Gray is in trouble too!"

Sabyhna diverted her attention to helping her other friend. "Gray, don't fall for his tricks! Focus on the blue one!" Perhaps it was her voice, or maybe just its urgent tone, but he seemed to snap out of whatever was affecting him. She then turned her attention back to Wat.

The vistani again pulled on the invisible hand with her left hand, trying to use the momentum of her dance to fling the hand like a dance-partner, all the while slashing madly at the little blue man to keep him at bay. It was just too much for her though. She could not keep her attacker at bay and help Wat at the same time, it seemed. Perhaps it was her buckler hindering her movement, or perhaps she didn't use the right dance move; whatever it was, she was beginning to feel as though the invisible hand of fate was working against her.
OOC: I still have an unused floating +2 to hit from last round, if it doesn't get used it will go away.

I popped my daily, so nobody in my aura is granting CA anymore, and one person can opt to deal an extra 2d10 damage once before the end of the enounter. Might want to save it for Soryth if she's still around, or use it to quickly drop an enemy. Might be extra effective on an Area or Burst power (multiple targets, one damage roll)

I tried my damndest to end all the conditions I could this round, but the RNG hates me today it seems. Also, had some trouble with the dice roller, so there might be some odd things in the roll history. Don't know why.

Don't forget: if you need healing, save a minor action and use my Aura to gain a surge +1d6.

Wat does his best to tune out the spectral hand clutching at his windpipe. His invocatio to Joven is muted, but still the prayer aims true against the creatures flanking Grey sending them both reeling away from the monk. His attack against the blue-skin near Sabynha is a bit hasty however and misses it completely. However when he notices the gash in the skald's leg, Wat swallows his embarassment and places his hand back on her thigh, feeding her own healing energy back to her. He smiles at her greatful for her attempt. Emboldened, he tears the spectral claw from his throat.

After first saluting it with her blade, Rain moves off and around in a circling arc towards the left flank of the Xivort swordsman menacing Sabynha, where she lands a probing blow.

She also prepares to fight the approaching newcomer at the same time, though she hopes that Sabynha's song will make it easier for her.

[sblock=actions]Minor Action: Aegis of Shielding on Xivort Slasher 2.

Aegis of Shielding (Minor Close burst 2 Arcane)
Target: One creature in burst
Effect: You mark the target. The target remains marked until you use this power against another target. If you mark other creatures using other powers, the target is still marked. A creature can be subject to only one mark at a time. A new mark supersedes a mark that was already in place. If your marked target makes an attack that does not include you as a target, it takes a -2 penalty to attack rolls. If that attack hits and the marked target is within 10 squares of you, you can use an Immediate Interrupt to reduce the damage dealt by that attack to any one creature by 8 points of damage.

Move Action: Rain moves to F14, then G14 before finally moving to H13. Position makes use of Sabynha's postion so that Xivort Slasher 2 grants Rain combat advantage.

Standard Action: Attack Xivort Slasher 2 with Booming Blade - Total to Hit, including combat advantage = 18, Potential Damage = 7.

Booming Blade (At Will Standard Melee 1 Arcane, Thunder, Weapon)
Target: One creature
Attack: +7 vs. AC
Hit: 1d8+4 damage and if the target is adjacent to you at the start of its next turn and moves away during that turn, it takes 1d6+3 Thunder damage.

Rain's Feat may kick in:
White Lotus Riposte: When an enemy that you've hit with an Arcane At-Will attack power attacks you before the start of your next turn, that enemy takes damage (of the same type the attack power deals) equal to the ability modifier to the attack power’s damage: 4.

Potential Interrupts:

Guardian’s Counter (Encounter Immediate Interrupt Close burst 2 Martial)
Trigger: An ally within 2 squares of you is attacked and you are not included in the attack.
Effect: You and the ally shift 2 squares as a free action, swapping positions. You become the target of the triggering attack in place of the ally. After the attack is resolved, you can make a basic attack against the attacker.
...if the most hurt person in range is attacked (Sabynha as I post) and it applies, Rain will use it, unless it would be really silly for them to stand there.

Infernal Wrath (Encounter Free Close burst 10 Fire)
Target: The triggering enemy in the burst
Trigger: An enemy within 10 squares of you hits you.
Effect: The target takes 1d6+4 fire damage.
...for which the prime targets are Xivort Slasher 2 and then Soryth - Rain won't use it on Fiddlesticks or Juliana.

As the Xivort that attacked Gray reels from Wat's thunderous attack, Zuri lets fly with her Hand crossbow and with her hands steadied by Sabynha's song, the bolt strikes true, wounding the creature severely.

Zuri hastily repositions herself to a more central position on the clearing's edge and reloads.

[sblock=actions]Standard action: Fire Hand crossbow at Xivort Slasher 1; it is dazed so grants Combat Advantage and she's using Sabynha's floating +2 to hit from last round, for an extra +4 (included) - Total to Hit = 18, Potential Damage = 5.

Disheartening Strike (Ranged) (At Will Standard Ranged Martial, Weapon, Rattling)
Requirement: You must be using a light blade, crossbow or
Target: One creature Attack: +6 vs. AC
Hit: 1d6+4 and the target takes a -2 penalty to attack rolls until the end of your next turn. A creature immune to fear is not subject to this penalty. (using hand crossbow).

Pretty sure that is a hit, so Sneak attack! : Extra Damage = 8.

Xivort Slasher 1 is bloodied, with 19 damage taken I think.

Free action: reload.

Gray centres himself in the patch of clover and moves into a defensive kata, preparing to windmill any incoming attacks away. Sabynha's songs and magic help him recover the wind that was knocked out of him, but he still feels more drained than he thought he would.

[sblock=Actions]

Move: Gray moves to H9 into the clover.
Minor: Uses one of Sabynha's heals from Skald's Aura. Uses a Healing Surge and adds a total of 1 extra for 6 hits recovered. (I rerolled the first one in the lucky clover and got another 1.) :erm:

Standard: Second Wind - Uses last Healing Surge for an extra 5.

As the group retalliate and distance themselves from the border of death with Sabynha's healing power the third xivort closes in to flank Rain. Both of the blue skins turn their blades on the tiefling with experienced timing.

FIddlesticks blinks out of sight, though from his troubled look you doubt he can move far.

The bloodied xivort charges back towards Gray with a mangled growl.

The creatures swing high, they swing low, they swing every which way with their blades except the right way. One of the xivorts gets his ears burst for his trouble as Rain ripostes with her arcane talent.
