You don't know. It didn't follow you in to the dining room (which is down a hall from the room where you talked shop with Lady Daybringer), but it's been at least a few minutes.

Between Tatterde's ability to talk to animals and Teclis' shapeshifting ability, they manage to set up to follow the cat familiar around without it noticing. After a while, the cat finds an otherwise empty room (save for other cats -- and Teclis in disguise) and sits in once place and stares off into space for a few minutes. He recognizes the cat's actions as being on the other end of a sending.

Unfortunately, there's not much physical evidence left at the scene of the assault by the time Silas, Althaea, and Soril get there, save for the bodies of the watchmen. The River Rats' observer is still lingering, however.

While the cat's away, Tatterdemalion gets to play. Well, at least, as much as trying to keep cats interested in what is, to them, boring can be considered playing. She plies them with promises of the treat Vanri brought back though, and with appeals to their dignity that she learned from long years dealing with the haughty fey of both the Courts.

(While kitty's doing its thing, Tatter questions the other cats to see if they know where the familiar calls 'home.')

Althaea Ripace

Althaea gives the scene a look over. Not exactly a lot to go off of. She glances over to Soril. "Looks like that River Rat is our best lead for now. I suppose we should see if we can detain him and question him. I think that's Silas's job," she offers to Soril.

She busies herself examining the bodies of the deceased guards for any possible clues. "Perhaps you could ask around to see if anybody here has a better account of what happened here?" she suggests to the dragonborn.

The other cats give Tatter the location of an abandoned warehouse they've followed the familiar to.

Nothing seems excepitonal in the guards bodies, beyond the existence of dead guards. Their uniforms are correct save for damage that might be expected from a street fight, and there's no indication they were killed by anything other than common street gang weaponry.

Tatterdemalion nods at Vanri, and the meat is distributed to the cats who contributed to this valuable information being discovered. As the cats feast, she flutters out and waits for the shapechanger to return.

Finally, when the group is together, she lets them know, "There's a big old building where that cat's known to hang out. They don't know what's in it, but they know he's often there. So...we should probably check it out."
