Flesh Price

The Flesh Price is the Initial Cost any Adventurer has acquired before he begins his Adventure. This rate varies depending on the Adventurer's Class, time/quality of training, Caste, and Advantages/Flaws. The Debt cannot be bypassed by anything short of death, and even then an individual's body can be purchased at the Soul Auction.

NOTE: As Caste and Advantages serve as the way to gain Racial bonuses, each character begins Generation without any benefits as a Freeman (base of 10 in all stats, no racial bonuses).

Age: Calculate based on the Age Chart for Humans and your Starting Class. This is your age. Use the random generated number + 20 to determine your Life Number.

Social Class: Choose a Social Class.

  • Abject Poverty: 40*Life GP.
  • Poor: 60*Life GP.
  • Common: 80*Life GP.
  • Good: 100*Life GP.
  • Rich: 150*Life GP.

Caste:

  • Skilled (BAB +3/4, no Spellcasting): *1.5
  • Warrior (BAB +1, no Spellcasting) *2.0
  • Magus (Spellcasting Class) *3.5

Benefits of Class:

Abject Poverty: Upon creation you receive a simple weapon, two suits of ragged clothes, and a single item of choosing no more than 10 GP in value for free. Spellcasters of this type must purchase any and all spells they receive above level 1, have Knowledge of (Int + 2) cantrips, and must purchase Foci for their spells.

Poor: As Abject Poverty, except that your clothing is homespun, and you have the choice of a martial melee weapon, light shield, or chapbook. Spellcasters of this type must purchase any and all spells they receive above 1st level, know (Int+4) cantrips, and must also purchase Foci for their spells.

Common: As Poor, but the clothing you receive is Tailored, and you have the choice of a suit of Light Armor, a martial ranged weapon, heavy shield, or 2 chapbooks. Spellcasters of this type receive a single spell for their chapbook, know all cantrips, and must purchase Foci for their spells.

Good: As Common, but you receive one set of Fashionable Clothing, and you have the choice to upgrade your Light Armor to Medium, an Exotic melee Weapon, or 4 Chapbooks. Spellcasters of this type receive two spells for their chapbooks, know all cantrips, and begin play with a single Foci for one of their spells.

Rich: As Good, but you receive a Light Horse, and have the choice to upgrade your Medium Armor to Heavy, an Exotic Ranged Weapon, or a Spellbook/Book of Hours (10 Chapbooks). Spellcasters of this type receive four spells for their Bound Book, know all cantrips, and begin play with two Foci for two separate spells.

Equipment Purchase: Any equipment purchased during Character Generation. Only Good or Rich individuals may purchase Masterwork items at this time.

Castes, Advantages, and Training: Once everything has been calculated, subtracted the amount listed here from 20,000. This is your total for spending on Training, Advantages, and Castes.
