The second cage hisses shut on the manticore. The force field hums into life just as the manticore releases more tail spikes at Tondrek. The blades bounce harmlessly off the field.
The chimera growls menacingly, moving forward the length of its chain.
The grabbed bugbear manages to spit out,
"Help me!" in between Muzdum's attempts to hack his head off.
His comrade comes to his aid, whipping his flail around in circles at a tremendous rate. Rumbum, having been victim to this before, ducks this attack. Muzdum takes the blow heavily, and for the first time, is knocked on his back.
Rumbum is too distracted by the either the first bugbear's attack or Muzdum's getting knocked down, because he takes a slamming flail attack that knocks him next to Muzdum on the ground.
Now released, the severely wounded bugbear Muzdum was holding, tries to get up and make a break for it.
"Not so fast!" barks the dwarf and his ax swings out at the bugbears unprotected backside, crunching solidily into his spine and dropping the second of the bugbears.
The ogre has an intense look of concentration on its face, but hasn't moved a muscle.

After activating the cage, the animal has to be in the caged area until the end of your next turn. If the animal leaves the cage area, the cage resets.
