As the chimera's fire breath washes over him, the fullblade flashes with a white light and the air around the blackguard chills considerable, saving him from the pain of the flames.

OOC: @cabana - Amarande's got no idea how to operate this thing, he's just got the beast pinned in the area.
[MENTION=88601]FourMonos[/MENTION] - Amarande has 9 fire resistance, so only 1 damage from the attack.

There is a low grind as the cage mechanisms speed into life. You can hear the soft hum of electricity, indicating the focefield is about to reactivate.

GM: The cage will close at the end of your turn, this turn! So if you end your turn in the caged area....

OOC: no worries r1, I'm mostly curious to see if Amarande keeps whaling on the displacer beast when the door closes. Don't mind Pok, he is just upset about the paperwork and possible damage claims. EDIT, Pok would have used Fade Away after taking damage. Effect: Pok is invisible until he attacks or until the end of his next turn.


Upon being hit with the flames, Pok immediately started patting himself out, winking out of sight at the same moment.

OOC: Today is my last day at job, so I'll be giving away my actual computer. I'll be without computer for the week-end and Tuesday, I'll know more what I'll have for my new job. I'll give news next week.

During that time, if you need to NPC River, I allow any player to NPC him if I take time to act. Continue to sustain Moment of Glory, even if dazed. Feel free to use any Encounter and At-Will power. Avoid using power that deal damage on bloodied enemy as it stun River.

Silently patting out the last of the flames, Pok crept silently along the floor behind Amarande and out of the way of the Chimera. The gnome relied on his boots to finish the silent journey to the panel, then set to work reeling in the chain attached to the Chimera.

After activating the panel, his form sparkled back into sight, leaving no cover to hide behind. *That wasn't nearly far enough, well done Pok, now you die...* the sudden loss of color to Pok's face had instant universal balance, as the large emerald the Ogre was greedily pocketing dissipated into mist and the brutes face gained three shades of anger.

The displacer beast nearly loses a paw as the cage door closes shut.

GM: Right now he is. I drew the outline of a cage on the opposite wall. Those were the dimensions when you guys came in the room.

Amarande continues to battle the panther, but this time the creature disappears and the knight almost cleaves his own ally at the beast's trick.

They are both so focused on the enemy that they are unable to put out the flames.

So, while this looks like it will end up with Amarande stuck in the cage with the beast, he really didn't know Pok was going to do that and even if he did, he knows nothing about arcane thingamijigs, so hence his less than tactical move.
